Hey there everyone, I'm afraid that this is a fairly short question with not much discussion but can I please ask: is there a list anywhere which just sets out in one place all of the writers and artists who've been credited on a Judge Dredd strip over the years? There is a short one with some of the more famous artists on the Judge Dredd Wiki but it's clearly quite thin on the ground and not comprehensive. Is there anywhere better to look?

There may be other writers who haven't made your list...

Yes. It is a silly list. I don't even know what it's for.

Can we be finally told who William Nilley was?

Here's a variation on the list of Dredd writers, in order of who has done most:
https://heroesof2000ad.blogspot.com/2015/04/interlude-dreddcount.html

and while I'm at it, here are the artists, too.
https://heroesof2000ad.blogspot.com/2015/04/interlude-dreddcount-part-2_29.html

Although these stats are based on 2015 data, so woefully incorrect by today's standards!
I must update them at some point, yup.

I, Cosh

Because I definitely don't have a lot of work to do or anything like that. Here's a list of everyone with a writing credit on a Dredd strip in any "core" publication accordign to Barney. This means the Prog, the Meg, any annual, special or yearbook but not DC or IDW Dredd, Metro or Daily Star. It does include Heavy Metal Dredd, crossovers, the movie continuity and Cadet Dredd strips, but nothing else.

There are 56 credited writers:

Alan Barnes
Alan Grant
Alan McKenzie
Al Ewing
Alec Worley
Alex de Campi
Andrew Cartmel
Andy Diggle
Andy Lanning
Arthur Wyatt
Charles Herring
Chris Lowder
Chris Standley
Chris Weston
Dan Abnett
Emma Beeby
Garth Ennis
Gerry Finley-Day
Gordon Rennie
Grant Morrison
Ian Edginton
Jim Alexander
John Higgins
John Smith
John Tomlinson
John Wagner
Kelvin Gosnell
Kenneth Niemand
Malcolm Shaw
Marc Wigmore
Mark Millar
Matt Smith
Michael Carroll
Pat Mills
Paul Neary
Paul Neal
Peter Hogan
Peter Harris
Peter Milligan
Robbie Morrison
Robert Flynn
Rob Williams
Roland Grey
Rory McConville
Rufus Dog (Placebo Poster Prog)
Simon Furman
Simon Jacob
Simon Spurrier
Si Spencer
Steve Moore
Steve White
TC Eglington
Tharg the Mighty
Tony Luke
Tony Skinner
William Nilly (78 Sci Fi Special)

A handful of strips are still shown as...
Unknown

Then there are eleven more writers who have contributed only text stories. Including a couple of familar faces from the boards:
Cavan Scott
David Baillie
Gary Russell
James Swallow
Jonathan Green
Jonathan Morris
Jonathan Clements
Robert Murphy
Steve Frame
George Pickett
John Ware

Doubt I'll be arsed to do the artists unless I find out I should actually be doing my tax returns at the weekend or something.
We never really die.

What about America, hmmmm?  What about the guy that wrote that? You're clearly in league with Big Casefiles.

Well done to I, Cosh for producing that list - I know how long it must have taken to look 'em up in Barney then format all the links on this board!

You're doing Grud's work there Broodblik!

Adding to this some boring facts:

The first appearance of Dredd was Prog 2
The following Progs did not have a Dredd story Prog 1,109,155,1100,1138.
The following Progs  had a re-run episodes and no new Dredd 351,352
Prog 2130,2170,2183,2196,2206 only contained a Cadet Dredd story.
Mike McMahon first artist to draw 50 episodes
Carlos Ezquerra first artist to draw 200 and 250 episodes
Ron Smith first first artist to draw 100 and 150 episodes
