Music / Re: What's everyone listening to...?

I cant stop listening to the WRECK-IT RALPH soundtrack at the moment. Some brilliant homages to 8-bit Arcade games, 16-bit Console and modern day Shoot-em ups!!!  Swear there are even a few musical nods to SKYFALL, DARK KNIGHT and ET in there as well!

Sorry but the only way to get the book is through me, via www.sgtmikebattle.co.uk or from Travelling Man comic shops in Leeds, Newcastle or Manchester.

Sadly I cant make it to Cardiff this year but will be at Bristol in May.

Creative Common / Re: Rob Liefeld will draw your story
28 February, 2013, 02:31:34 PM
I've always admired Rob Liefeld.

Whether you like him or not, you cannot deny the impact he's had on comics!
-As a 20 year old he revolutionized Marvel in the early 1990s
-formed Image Comics which led to the biggest change in the industry for years in temrs of creator-rights
-created one of the best-selling independent comic books of all time, YOUNGBLOOD #1
and he continues to be a huge name to this day... All this without being able to draw feet!

I was a huge fan when Image formed and have always had a soft spot for his characters. I'm working on a few ideas for this Talent Contest and would love to have him draw one of my stories!

Star Spangled Wars is a work of close to genius and I recommend it to everyone.

Cheers, Dave, thats almost as good as the Stan Lee "quote" on the cover!

just wait til I get round to printing it in colour!

Hi guys, Its been a while since I posted any SGT MIKE BATTLE updates, so long in fact that I've got 2 new issues and and 1 trade paperback to pester you with!

Firstly there is...
SGT MIKE BATTLE #17 features STAR-SPANGLED WARS which is set not so long ago, in country far, far away. In this epic story, Sgt Mike Battle meets a young farmboy, an elderly warrior and an arrogant smuggler who are on a quest to rescue a beautiful princess from an evil empire!
I cant say any more with giving away the story but here's a review to get you interested.

This issue comes with 2 covers, one where it is called SGT MIKE BATTLE #18 and another where it is called LAST ADMIN HERO 2 #1

And finally there is...

Sgt Mike Battle LAST ADMIN HERO, the 2nd trade paperback which collects the original LAST ADMIN HERO storyline from SGT MIKE BATTLE #8-10. When the terrorist group A.C.R.O.N.Y.M takeover a US Weapons Development lab, the only person who can save the day is an office worker, and all has to use as weapons is the stationery cupboard!

Its a good job I had the day off on Monday otherwise I wouldn't have been able to book a table. Selling out 300 tables in 3 hours is crazy!

See you all in November!

I encourage eveyone to watch these video reviews of prequels

I am a fan of the prequels but I have to agree with most of the "Mr Plinkett" has to say!

Could always combine the two.

That would either mean CF on rollerskates, or the Rollergirls in judges outfits with big rollerboots.

or even worse, CF on roller skates in an tight vest and short skirt!  :o

in brief, there are so many reasons why TB 2011 was THE best con I've ever been to. I was worried that being a 2-day event could ruin the magic, but it just made it twice as special!

I managed to sell a fair few copies of the SGT MIKE BATTLE trades and issues, but the best thing is just talking to people who love comics, doing the most utterly random* sketches for people (aint that right Lady F?) and discovering books that you wouldn't normally find!

Graham

PS- who needs Judges when you have Roller Girls keeping order in the halls?

i knew it was either going to be that or a flesh avatar

I like to think that the Doctor had dozens of flesh avatars piloting the Tesselector!

I would have enjoyed the episode much more if the Tesselector didnt feature so much in the pre-credits recap! It ruined the surprise of how the Doctor survived.

I intend to go on the bike

heck, cycling from Preston to Inverness is only 360 miles. That is do-able over 5-6 days...

...although I wouldn't be able to carry my stock on the back of the bike though...

...and it would be cold...

...and wet...

...and there are lots of hills...

but apart from that cycling does sound like a good idea, but if I can make it to Hi-Ex then I'll be best going by car/train/plane!!
