I look forward to that one. I wonder if it should be considered a parallel universe to Night of the Living Dead since it goes back to when it all started, but in the present day. (I.e. the others still work as sequels albeit they're self contained and follow different sets of people.)

That being said althought the first film is very much sixties no actual date is stated and it's all filmed in one house... so actually the new film could still work in the same world, so to speak.

Looks like the shooting style will be interesting....

News / Re: New 2000 AD Games on the Way.....

They did bring down the price of the 60 gig one too, around £350 in the shops I believe although I think it's possible to pick one up for £300. Still rather expensive for a games console though in my eyes.

If I could afford it I'd be tempted to get the 40GB one though since I have a PS2 anyway. Would have been nice to trade it in though rather than having two consoles around the place. (Not sure how much I'd get for a first gen (i.e. chunkier) PS2 on ebay though.) Can't afford neithe at the moment anyway so never mind.

Ok, better get on topic (hee hee.) I love the Rogue Trooper game, one of my favourites. I never got past the train level though unfortunately and then gave up.

I had another go recently and faired even worse... The only way to do it is to complete the first part with minimal damage. If you're returned back to that point your on half and it seems impossible to beat the reas of the level on that. I'm not really into cheating, but I don't think even the omnipotency cheat would work in that level since the main problem is with the train damage not the character.

General / Re: City Of Heros Free Trial.........

I've tried to do the free trial and I apparently have an account, but can't seem to actually access the game itself. Irritating. When I click on the game link I'm taken to the 'buy now' page.

To be fair I registered a way back but the server wasn't up so couldn't take it further. Maybe my trial period has expired now...

Film & TV / Re: Aliens vs. Predator New Pix......

It would interesting to see what the outcome would be if one of the stray facehuggers got hold of a deer or a wascally wabbit...

A rabbit based alien. A lapinalien. Why does that provide such a ghastly image?

Ok small spoilers to AvP and the first five minute section:

Having the signal to the Predator homeworld was a poor idea I think (although the scene looked good).  I'd have preferred it if they'd just had more predators survive the ship wreck, and have them as pratagonists throughout the film (against the aliens anyway. There were a few guys on the ship at the end of AvP and I can't believe this one Alien was able to wipe out all the Predators so quickly even if it took them by surprise.

Also, the face huggers look much browner than their predecessors don't you think? (But that might just be poor  memory on my part. I remember them beining pinkish.) I'm also wondering why that particular ship would have face huggers on board since the pyramid from the first film had eggs deposited there already, and this ship presumably came to pick the 'youngsters' from the previous film up.

Anyway, here's me nitpicking before I've even watched the whole thing. I still look forward to it though. As for the first film, I rather enjoyed it, and it is no worse that Alien Resurrection in my opinion.

Interesting. Hideous looking creatures. I noticed on the close up of the predalien's head they appear to show eye sockets bellow the transparent carapace like they did with the alien in the first film (although you couldn't really tell in the film itself.)

I'm looking forward to it though. Interesting as it looks I'm not convinced it would have the dreadlocks. The dog/ox alien only seemed to take it's mentod of locomotion- i.e.four legs- from it's host in Alien 3.... but still it's an interesting iconic look. My only reservation on the look is that full screen look of the predator and predlien, the predalien looks a bit too humanoid in it's stance.  I'm not just saying that because it comes from a predator (they're pretty humanoid after all, appart from their pretty faces), I think all the Aliens look best when you see a bit less.

I like the art. Slightly toony and vibrant.

I dislike all the hero worship ("The lonely god", please...) that goes on in the new Who though. I'm not a hater of the show like many old school who fans (in fact I was never into the old show) but there is often a strong wiff of gorgonzola coming from the TV set when the show is on.

Slightly off topic, but very much looking forward to the Christmas special though!

"Exclusively American" though. I know we can still access em via the internet but.... (sigh!)

I never thought of Hellraiser as a British film though. Set in America, American actors... (appart from Pinhead obviously.) Obviously must have been a lot more British behind-the-scenes stuff than I thought.

I look forward to a new horror series actually set in Britain though. I'll look forward to that.

Were the strips he mentioned really that incomprehensable if you haven't read earlier episodes? Stickleback? Shakara?

I haven't and they weren't. Incomprehensible I mean.

I actually have encountered Stickleback before, but it was the last 2 parts of the previous story, which was when I started getting this comic. And coming in at the end of that story with two strange underground tree creatures (the London Fathers?) was a lot more confusing than starting on this new story.

I have, but I haven't had my bleedin' prog yet - what're the odds, eh...?

Sorry for the spoilet there. It's very minor though, not really a spoiler much at all. (I thought I'd tagged it out but never mind. Also did a double post there for some reason...).

I guess I needn't worry about spoilers as this is the spoiler thread anyway. I just know many people are waiting to read this over Christmas. I wish I'd been more self disciplined myself... but nope. Read it the day I got it ;}

Sorry I did put the Stickleback stuff between spoiler tags but must have missed something, an angled bracket, or whatever. That or it just didn't take.

Anyway, I didn't really give much away.

All pretty good I thought. Not much happens in Sinister Dexter as far as advancing story etc, but that didn't matter as it made up for it being comedy intensive. In fact it was probably a lot funnier than many of the others I've seen rolled together, and that's not belittling the other strips.

Shakara, I'm new to this so wasn't too sure what to make of it, but an interesting read.

As for Stickleback,....
Has anyone here seen a Chinese horror flick called "Mr Vampire?" I'm referring to the prologue bit at the start with the guy and the monsters. If you've seen Mr Vampre I think you'll get exactly what I mean. Hmmmm... Great stuff. And I liked the style of artwork. They were just finishing off the previous Stickleback story when I started reading 2000 AD. Wondering if it's worth getting back issues...

All the rest, good.  Love the two page spread of the angel gang. That's just picking out 1 thing of many others I like understand.
