It's a canopy fitted over the hole in the original creature.

So it is a window once it's been broken in and embalmed in metal.

Nice one Mike,

I started a Ro-Jaws about a month ago, but didn't get much further than the head...

Steve, get in touch if you want the Ro-Jaws model, or any of the others.

In fact, anyone who wants them can have them: the files and accompanying textures are pretty big so I won't be putting them on-line, but I've got lots of blank CD-Roms...

All I ask in return is to be credited if they're used. Oh, and I also everyone to buy my books. And I want unlimited power. And a sandwich.

Cheers,
Mike

Cheers Mike,

I'm sure I'll get round to finishing it - I model the 2000ad stuff as a change from the dull stuff that pays the bills :)

You wouldn't be able to export that classic logo as a flat vector EPS file, would you? :D

Mike Carroll

Sorry, Wils... I don't even know how to do that! But I can give you the 3D file if you like.

Mike shamed me into working some more on my Ro-Jaws - not textured and I still want to do a bit more work on the model.

Nice one, Steve... Puts mine to shame! (Damn it!)

What software do you use?

Hi Mike,

cheers - I love your Land Raider, brings back memories...

I use 3DS Max.

In fact, you might find this thread useful - does Cinema4D have a smooth feature where you can work on a lower polygon mesh, and then subdivide it so it is smoother.

This thread (and it's long and a bit of a ramble) talks about the best way to model so it looks good if you subdivide it afterwards.

It's mainly useful for mechanical stuff, but it really helped when it comes to modeling that way.

Cheers,

Steve

That's ok. I haven't got anything that'll open it at the mo, for a start!

I've got redrawing the logos as vectors on my list of things to do, actually. A few years ago, I redrew the Robin Smith Dredd badge and it's been used of some of the character profile pages. Unfortunately, I've lost the bloody EPS files now, so can't do any more. I can't remember if I sent them to any other boarder, but I suppose I could always redo it. Perhaps some of us could get together and come up with some kind of 2000ad resource for these kind of things?

I've done some Rogue stuff, which turned out ok, and am yet to finish off redrawing the proper Dredd logo. As well as redrawing the original, I'm also attempting an updated version as well. Although I've no idea how it's going to be when it's finished, so far the 'J' has turned out better than I expected, at least. :)

Wils,

This might be handy: Check out my website for my Judge Dredd font!
