I can't post on the you tube thread and I can't find the link thread.

I thought we needed cheering up on here and yes I 've been drinking and gotten over familiar so, this is to hopefully make amends.

Its Pixar doing what they do best. Weird shit alieny beings doing incredibly funny things.

The Adventurer

That ran before Ratatouille and it was pretty funny.

Is Ratatouille any good then, Adventurer?

It looks more original than Cars but the "rat in the kitchen" is a knife edge concept to be sitting on the fence of.

I can't seem to get my head around it..or... find it difficult to.

The Adventurer

All Pixar moves are good. Period. (even Cars, though it at the bottom of the "Best Pixar Film" list, which still makes it better then most other movies)

Ratatouille is brilliance condensed.

Ratatouille is a thing of beauty.

Ratatouille looks amazing, but I didn't actually like it that much. It certainly didn't make me laugh as much as previous Pixar films.

Compared to the Incredibles and the Iron Giant, it just didn't grab me - although Brad Bird wasn't the original director and took over part of the way through development. Still worth a look though.

While other animated films have explored the meaning of childhood, family and society, Ratatouille does kind of look to me like you have to really care about whether rat becomes a chef (I'm guessing he does).

It looks to me like all the 'microcosm of out world' stories have pretty much been done (Antz being the best of course), so CGI movies are getting more peculiar...Ant Bully, Meet The Robinsons...though the ideas rarely seem to grab me, perhaps CGI movies are best at creating their own world rather than setting them in ours.

Having said that I watched Aardman's Flushed Away the other day. It should be, it was crap.
