I just read Dredd's first appearance in prog #2 through the free copy of 2000AD Origins 1 on clickwheel and just want to know..why is it based in New York?? I kept my eye out for the answer whilst reading various wikipedia stuffs earlier at work but never got my answer. Did New York eventually merge with other cities to become Megacity One or did the writers relocate the location?

After passing a copy of the prog in my local newsagent the other day and being pleased 2000AD is still around, it bugged me overnight and the next day I just HAD to go and buy a copy - and now I just want more more MORE

So anyway, I'm all pretty new and don't really know what I'm talking about, so expect me to pop up posts saying incorrect things on here or asking stupid questions - just correct me and steer me in the right direction 

Went to Forbidden Planet in Southampton yesterday to try and buy as many backissues from the current Dredd arc as possible and managed to get as far back as 1676 with their (limited) stock, though still missing 1680 and 1682 from the chain :/. Went with the intention of getting Judge Dredd Case Files 1, but happened to find A.B.C Warriors Volgan War 1 instead and I am EXCITED because I want more of that now too
