My copy of Hey! Hello!'s debut album arrived this morning.

Gonna play the hell out of it tomorrow, for the uninitiated:  http://youtu.be/BNga2vAZQew
Nice to see a Wildhearts fan here!  :D

A Krill Tro Thargo is worth more.

In comparison to an Oscar, I know which one I'd prefer.  ;)

Film Discussion / Re: Dredd (2012)

'Dredd' is one of those movies that won't be as appreciated on release, as it will when it gains the cult status it deserves (Blade Runner for instance), and those that put their posteriors on cinema seats to experience this magnificent, visceral, uncompromising beast of a film should be glad that they made the effort.

It's not very often I've come out of a cinema with the feeling that I've seen something truly original and ground breaking on the silver screen, but 'Dredd' hit all the right buttons.
Best film I've seen all year, bar none.

Best movie Stallone has ever been in is "Copland" (with possibly "Deathrace 2000" as runner up?).

Looks good to me. Very early Dredd style, which I prefer, to be honest.
Got a feeling the uniform (and Lawmaster) style will evolve if the planned sequels happen.

if they landed on the moon all those  years ago.why did they not build the space station on it

Money, technology and requirement. Probably.

The point was to get there before the Russians, hence "The Space Race".
They did, end of story.

I can't quote numbers, but I should imagine the economics concerned with having a base on the moon, plus the viability of sustaining a group of humans on another planetary body would be astronomical. Without any return on their investment, be that mining the moon for it's mineral wealth or whatever, the American public (if it's an American base - in all probability it would've been) wouldn't have stood for such a huge drain on public resources.
It costs a hell of a lot of money to send stuff into orbit, let alone send the material and manpower to build a lunar base 221,000 miles to an atmosphere free and air-less environment. The logistics involved would be mind boggling.

Maybe one day?

All this fake moon-landing theory is getting a bit old.
I'm with Buzz Aldrin on this one...

Robocop had it's day, it was great for it's time, but it really wouldn't be the same without Peter Weller in the lead role (they tried, it failed).
Utter and pointless waste of money.

For all it's faults, the '95 version did get the cityscape right.  ;)

The more I see it, the more it's growing on me. Having read the script, I can imagine JD on it doing what he has to (trying not to give anything away here). A possible CGI HUD would look extremely cool, if the film makers have that in mind.

Irrespective of the naysayers and doubters, I really think Dredd's gonna be a blast and my most anticipated movie in a long time.

Stay positive...  ;)

Film Discussion / FIRST LAWMASTER PIC FROM DREDD!

First impression was "Oh, Dear!". The more I look at it, the more I like it. From a design point of view it's more aerodynamic than the comic version (the drag created by the Eagle and the headlight must be bugbear on Justice Dept fuel budgets.), so I can understand the realisation from that point of view.
Another hypothesis is that as this film seems based on earlier Dredd, the design ethos lends itself to possible evolution of both the uniforms and vehicles in sequels, hence the smaller shoulder pad, etc.

I'm not going to take anything at face value. The shots we've seen so far have been out of context and not lit sympathetically. I'm pretty sure this will look great on the big screen.

"Dredd" is going to cool.  :D

Whats the lass playing Anderson like acting wise? I've only seen her in a bit part in Juno.

No idea, but there was a rumour of a photo of her as Anderson appearing before too long (or am I mistaken?).  ;)
