Nemesis 3, Stront 3, 4 and 5, Slaine 2 and 3, Case Files 7, 8, 9 and 10, Dante 6, America, Henry Flint, ABCs 4... and probably more, depending on what else is due for release later in the year.

Jeez, time for another shelf. :-)

GRennie has set up so many lose ends that we've never heard of again...The Sov guy in the wheelchair for instance any others?

I'll see that and raise you - the Krush guy's secret prison, the 'beast' thing in the overgrown park looked after by a priest of Grud, the Ian Gibson-drawn femme fatale who got one over on Dredd and was challenged to a rematch - and throw in Alan Grant's 'How to sucseed in Bizness' entrepenuer who caused the deaths of hundreds but was never caught.

Great to see Slaine The King - Glen Fabry just blows my mind, and he did some of his best work here. I've also gained a newfound appreciation for Slaine after having the chance to finally read it all in order, from the beginning, before it dissapeared up its own arse post-Horned God (Books of Invasion excepted).

I think Anderson's far more suited to a standard colour trade format than Case Files, so great to see that too - but I'm still hoping for a re-issue of the first one in the current trade dress before I pick that up.

All looking good as usual, really (but still no Robo-Hunter 4, I see). :-(

It's human nature to think 'Is this really happening?' before acting.

I've seen a woman being stabbed repeatedly on the other side of the road to me, and a woman attacked quite violently by a homeless guy only feet away - and both times, like an idiot, I just sort of gawped, wondering if it was real, then started looking about to see what other people were doing before I decided how to act.

I used to hope I'd be a hero in such situations, but obviously not.

Off Topic / Re: HD-DVD v Blue ray

This thread does my heart good. Like most here, I couldn't give a shit. Bog-standard DVD is fine. It's not as though I've sat endlessly bemoaning the quality of my films and series for the last seven years.

My tv is an ancient, ariel-powered 12" tube-driven box. None of your flat-screen malarkey here, thank you very much. I'm stubbornly refusing to ever get a digital box of any kind, for no better reason than because I resent being forced to upgrade - it should bloody well be my choice, dammit. I watch dvds on a PS2, but even that's too new-fangled for me to have actually bought - it's the old one my brother ditched when he upgraded to a PS3.

Actually, I'd like to hear why you like it. Not so I sneer and have a go, and I don't want to have to force you onto the defensive, just because I'm genuinely intrigued as to what you see in it.

Also, have we ever seen a mole in 2000AD?

Belardinelli's blind mining moles in Meltdown Man?

My copy of "The Ballad of Halo Jones" came today.

This is my first reading of it (it was suggested to me some while back by another poster when I mentioned the lack of deeper stories in 2000 AD).

That was me! Good to hear you picked this up, it's possibly 2k's single most essential story.

I spent some time wondering what all the hype was in aid of, believing it couldn't possibly live up to the weight of expectation - how wrong I was.
