There was a thread  a while back discussing displaying artwork (hence the title), not sure what it was called.

Can anyone recommend frames for pages of comic strip - and whether there is a recommended outlet for specialist frames suited to the purpose (I seem to remember mention of special glass to prevent damage from sunlight)?

I recommend acid free mounting board and UV glass
to protect your artwork. It is not cheap but is a damn sight preferable to damaging a unique art page.Frames do not touch the art and are therefore down to personal choice.
Also NEVER hang in direct sunlight or over a radiator.
Hope this helps

I just keep mine blue-tacked to the bathroom wall.  I scrape the mildew off with my toothbrush.

Hold on a mo...thats not mildew!!!

Seriously tho..roughly how much are we talking with the above special glass and will a picture framers have this or do you need a specialist.

I still havent framed the 2 pieces I got and its payday today.
Hmm, just pretend I wrote something witty eh?

Thanks for the info carefree.

Yeah, thought I'd heard about the UV glass.
Will they sell this in your standard shops or will I have to seek some specialist online outlet?

Denglas? Conservation Glass 2mm (UV Clear) is a clear 2mm float glass with UV coating on both sides offering 97% UV filtration. Glass and Mirror sell it for ?12.00 per m2. Never bought from them but I'm thinking of in the future being in the same position as yourself.Just need to decide on a frame!

Woah.  Good info!

Will definately look into that - thanks Bubba66.

With regard to the hinges on the picture above I would probably use corner supports so you don't have to glue anything to the art. Good Luck!!

I wish I could afford to frame my artwork and indeed I wish I had space to put them!

i recommend that you get your art professionally mounted and framed, any reputable picture framer will be able to get hold of UV glass and acid free mount. If you are gonna do it yourself, don't forget the insect tape on the back, this stops those little black thunderflies from getting inside.

Hi All,
just thought i'd share this (again!). I got it professionally framed and only picked it up this morning, it was nerve wracking handing it over to somebody else to look after for a couple of weeks (the amount of time the framers took to do the job) it's got that special U.V. glass in it as well but the framers charged me an extra ?16 for it!
Still, the end result is imo fantastic.
Cheers,

Robby, that's splendid!

Which room did you put it in? Do you awake each morning to admire Belardinelliness, or go you gaze upon it in the kitchen as you eat?

We need the full story!

For my shame it's actually propped against one of the bookcases in the spare room (computer room!) i've got to get the room redecorated then it's getting pride of place!
Cheers,
Rob.
