Tom Hardy will produce and star in a 100Bullets movie, and I have no words for it how awesome that is!

Tom -the man- said it pretty well himself a while ago when teasing he still had something something DC left on his table!

"I actually got something cooking with Warner Bros. which is also a comic book, it's a DC thing which is kind of... It's really good actually, it contains elements of all kinds of stuff. From Ocean's Eleven, to Batman, you can get all the wrappers out and it would be a big, really cool, Technicolor, Pulp Fiction...It's a psychological fuck fest, it's absolutely awesome. It's as if you would take Transmetropolitan and make it happen, but it's not that out there, it's something which is much more real world. It could be like Heat, it could be fucking awesome."

Hmm.

If you're going to adapt 100 Bullets, then doing it as a TV show (with a 100 episode run, naturally) seems a much more logical route. Each episode could almost be self-contained - a mini movie - with a sprinkling of mythos stuff weaving a larger narrative. The joy of the comic was always about the little anthology-style, almost unrelated pulp crime vignettes.

Just had this same conversation with someone - about how TV would be a great format for it but a film just couldn't have the scope. It's perfectly suited to TV, hook people in with the briefcase stuff with every week feeling like a self contained little tale, then once they're invested the threads all come together and the overarching story creeps in. Just can't see a film being able to cover that ground as effectively.

i think the attaché thing could carry a film by itself, with the mythology being texture. Simillar to DREDD. I would love something similar to it. selling the idea to new comers whille still being fresh for old dans.

a new but recogniseble story. a bit more personal and self contained like heartbreak sunnyside up, idol chatter, hang up on the hang low or wylie runs the voodoo down.

But then, Game of thrones seems to have worked out fine, going the whole way with it.

btw. it seems like it could become both film and tv

HARDY: It's already... It's real estate, it's prime real estate which is sitting there right under everybody's nose that no one's really thought about yet and it goes TV and movie, it's awesome. I can't believe that nobody has even–I know they thought of it but no one has actually blown life into it yet.

i wonder what tone theyll go for. i really hope theyll  adapt it like John Bormans point blank. a good balance between dream like and primal. cool and silly.

sorry my writing is a bit off. im writing on a telephone.
