Title: 2000ad advent calendar 2004
Post by: ukdane on 30 November, 2004, 05:14:16 PM
The 2000ad interactive advent calendar 2004 is now available to download.

Many thanks to Duncan Nimmo for supplying the astonishing artwork this year.

You can download it here:
mac users (http://www.2000adonline.com/download/2000AD%20Advent2004.hqx)

Whilst you can open a new door everyday in December (and previous day's stay open), I've decided this year to password protect the "sneak preview image" supplied by Tharg. The reason for this is to stop cheats from grabbing a sneak preview.

If you want the password, you can send me a cheque for ?5 :-) or wait until December 23rd, when I'll post the password on this message.

Happy Christmas.

Love the advent calendar, done by fans who chat on the board for other fans.
Not done by 'fans' who just show up to show us their wonderfull pics on their long winding path to artistic obscurity.

I calculate the probability of at least one character appearing in the same position on all three calendars by chance as 4% (if all the calendars had the same set of characters).

This is possibly the funniest post I've seen in ages.

Imagine him saying it in the voice of Star Trek: The Next Generation's Mr Data, and you'll get why I'm sniggering.

The entire calendar, or just the main image?

(either way the answer is yes, but the entire calendar would take about 10 mins extra programming.)

Let me know what version you want.

Ah, now you see Bolt, I've told a little white lie- I can't (to the best of my knowledge) make the wallpaper work as an advent calendar. That has to be a static image.

I can however make the program into a screensaver.

Would that suit, sir?

Call me old fashioned but i am finding it soo hard not to be an old troll and take the piss out of the lad.

intlorent, certainly not as i make no attempt to influence what he does or what my son thinks of it (though inwardly i laugh bit as i admit) and homophobic.. most certainly not, i have a very good gay friend (who happens to be very masculine).. i'd say just old fashioned and finding it hard to adjust to a world where the boy/girl split isn't as obvious.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the very talented Duncan Nimmo for all his artwork.

I'd also like to thank Tharg for supplying the "mystery" artwork- even if it has now seen print elsewhere.

Next year I'll definately move the characters around a bit. If anyone has some ideas for next years calendar, please let me know before November ;-)
