As a comic collector ive been collecting comics since 1989 before then i was either given comics second hand or bought what i could with pocket money.

In 1990 a friend recommended forbidden planet in newcastle which was a train right from county durham, i had spent a large sum of money in there collecting image,dc,marvel.dark horse titles i have an extensive collection im proud of part due to the fact at one time forbidden planet was the best place and organised shop to buy my titles recently, i got back into 2000ad to the point of wanting to spend money on graphic novels and various titles.

Whilst viewing peoples comments i was saddened to see peoples comments regarding there Forbidden planets i had stopped going to my nearest in newcastle a few years back in favour of cheaper price's more reliability and more choice.

Over the years i have popped in on passing i can say that my view is the same as many people on this forum, sadly the shop has gone downhill no organisation regarding comics, graphic novel's etc everything has just been thrown onto a shelf without any care or thought for potential buyers/collectors looking to spend some money  sadly after trying to look for 2000ad titles for nearly 20 minutes and finding very little in any order  i gave up and left saying to the wife it would be the last time i stepped in through there doors.

Its a shame as the guys running the store are the same guys running the store way back at the start of my collecting all of which hvae seemed to gone from being friendly and helpful to elitests constatly grumbling and giving you evil eye for what i can only assume is buying a comic that isnt flavour of the month.

There's a travelling man comic store  4/5 shop's down that did get my business but again i felt though organised the staff again werent happy with a could care less attitude.............it just makes me think back forbidden planet back when it was a place to go for all your comic related needs with friendly staff and organisation though even back then get comics held back for you was luck of the draw if you got what you had asked for.

Other than that there's know where else so i buy from ebay,www.mycomicstore.com,2000adonline.com sadly
