Whuuuuh?!? Always nice to be surprised!

This looks really great, although I'm not sold on the need to exhume D. R.  & Quinch. Let the FCBD Prog hunt begin!

Saw the cover preview of this and have been excited ever since. This only adds to that. In my fevered dreams this is being used as a prototype for a new ongoing release.

I was predictably aghast at the whole 'young' feeling of it.
And then I remembered the purpose of the exercise.

If an American kid picked this up and then felt encouraged to pick up a re-coloured Halo Jones for the same price of an Image tab, that's pretty cool outcome.

So well done for trying to reach out.
Old man out.

Looks great - I'd love to see this idea take off. Let's hope it doesn't end with FCBD.

I can't resist the urge to point out that Dredd's eagle is on the wrong shoulder in that penultimate panel though.

It's part of the competition to spot the 'intentional' mistakes in each strip – don't ruin it for the kids.

Article on Bleeding Cool regarding the signing makes out Regened will be ongoing. This is wrong, yes?

Silly question, how do you get 2000AD Regened ? Do you have to be at a book store ?

Hi,

You can get them at a participating comic book store.

The aim of Free Comic Book Day is to get people into the comic book stores, which is why they're not available digitally or through online stores.

They sometimes show up on eBay afterwards though.

Cheers Steve, but I believe the question was "How do you get 2000AD Regened?"

I've formulated a three part plan;

1) Print and laminate three of your favorite 2000AD covers in extras small size (60mm x 25mm).
2) Cut your hair* mohawk style and apply blue face paint.
3) Bust into the Rebellion offices and yell "Here are my boys....make them into men!"

Thank You but where I stay we do not really have any comic book stores and most people have never heard of FCBD.

Unfortunately it is not available digitally because that is the way I get my comics or order from places like Amazon

Ebay will be your best bet.
I'd recommend waiting until a few weeks after FCBD before seeking it out, give the prices a chance to settle.

Other than that you will always find a few kind souls on this forum with a spare copy.

The Sci Fi special was the pseudo-Scout camp story ("sorry, I skipped two pages")  The jungle story was D.R. and Quinch get drafted ("Don't know, they must be claustrophobic.")

Plus .. Alan Davies Art.  Always a pleasure.

Bit of a Necro-post but I'm hoping some kind squaxx will be able to help me out.

I normally manage to get myself over to the local comic shop (Nostalgia & Comics of Brum) every couple of months for a mooch, but I can't get there this weekend.

If anyone out there is able to bag a copy of Regened and wants to pass it on to a reasonable home- I'd be very grateful and more than happy to pay postage or if you are coming to LawgIVer or Oldham I'll have it off you there.

Ta.

Likewise, if anyone gets a spare, I'd love one and will happy pay postage, etc. Only one comic shop locally and they don't do FCBD. Hopefully if nothing else eBay will do the job. (A Place in Space last year sold a ton of FCBD stuff on the Sunday.)

I'm always grateful to A Place In Space for my reading copy each year, along with Eamonn's signed charity copy.  Scalpers are really getting in on the act though now.
Title: Re: 2000AD REGENED (preview)
Post by: IndigoPrime on 03 May, 2018, 04:43:18 PM
I recall last year 2000 AD was going for £15+ at one point on the Saturday. Some lovely person on here sent me a copy, but also A Place in Space had them (in fact, still has them) for sale on eBay at postage-only costs.

It really beggars belief that people try to flip these comics, but there you go.

Post by: Leigh S on 03 May, 2018, 09:35:30 PM
I will try for you Bolt, but I am pretty unsure I'll get a copy for myself - speaking to N&C after last years debacle (had to send my wife Clare, who queued for 2 hours to be told they had all been given out to the early entry ticket people), they are still operating a limited early entry scheme to standing order customers - they have 30 copies coming in and 11 customers who have 2000AD as part of their standing order, so could be tricky!  I'll back track to FP and try their random bags too - might strike lucky there (it was how Clare managed to get my last years).

I know Free Comci Book day and REcord Store day have honourable intentions, but more often than not, it is ironicaally ebay and internet scalpers who make the real money out of it - case in point, I have asked the chap in Oasis market to try to get me the limted edition Tim Buckley RSD release - he is still struggling adn I will probably ahve to cough up $30 to get it off ebay

If you're planning on picking this up in Brighton, it's not there.

Hmm -  I'm not sure that establishing how much cheaper and more straightforward it is to order off the internet than go to the bricks and mortars shoop is the intention - Saying that, I think that bar one time when I had to use Disposable Heroes (RIP?), I have got mine from a store on the day, but then I'm someone who usually goes to a shop for most purchases I make and use the internet as a back up for when the shops fails me - if I was mobile, I think I'd still have preferred to go in person and chance it.
Title: Re: 2000AD REGENED (preview)
Post by: IndigoPrime on 05 May, 2018, 11:21:59 AM
I'd prefer to go in person, too. But locally there's only one comic store and they don't do FCBD. So that would mean going into the hell that is Reading, to a store that only ever gets in one copy of 2000 AD and hoping for the best, or spending 30 quid and several hours on a round-trip to London.

In the past, I used Disposable Heroes, too. Here's hoping A Place in Space has some bits on its store in the morning. (And I'll use that as an excuse to chuck some profits there way buy purchasing some expensive bits of card to store comics in, and to separate them in boxes.)

I did however get a free copy of Rom of the Reds 1 from Forbidden Planet so if anyone hasn't read that, and you really should, more than happy to pass that on to someone.

Shocking, but I'm guessing they're as rare as Unicorn Poop this year. My own thrill merchant only got 5 copies and if I hadn't hassled him on Facefook this morning, he'd have forgotten to save me one. Apparently seven others tried to bag 'emselves one in the same manner, but 'cos I'm a loyal Squaxx I got special treatment (exactly why I buy from him every week and not subscribe). Here's hoping everyone manages to get a copy.

I was working Saturday so got my hands on one, read it, enjoyed the Cadet JD the bestest.

Was in a friends communal garden on Saturday night, so passed it on to a youngling of about seven years old (specs and an Avengers t-shirt) he csat and read it cover to cover and took it away with him... Nice one Tharg!
