The Enigmatic Dr X

As part of my clearing out, I am going to get rid of my collection of 2000ad progs. It's sitting in boxes and I've not looked at it for the best part of 15 years; I have the stories I want in collections.

I'm looking for help on how to sell it.

A quick look on eBay and Wake's old threads suggests that a complete collection of the Prog is going for £1800 - £2000.

I'd be grateful for help with the following, though:

What's the going rate for a complete collection of the Meg?
What's the going rate for a complete collection of Starlord?
Are there any rare Meg or Starlord editions?
What's the going rate for the annuals (I have them all)?
Basically, I've bought the lot. Are there any special items I shouldn't let go cheap (eg poster progs)?
How do I sell it? eBay? Or are there collectors?

Cheers.

EDIT: I know I will get the best price if I split it, but I cannot be arsed with the drip-drip of piece-meal sales.

Lock up your spoons!

I expect the Starlord Summer Special is rare.
Ebay is a good place to sell them. I filled the gaps in my collection that way.

There've been quite a few over the years turn up on a semi regular basis.  If its listed at the £10 mark it tends to go.  If its at the £20 mark it can take some time.  A complete Starlord collection can go for around £50 - £100 depending on whether the free gifts are included.  Issue 1 with the stickers general go for around £20-£25, Issue 2 and 3 with the free gifts are still fairly common so about £5 to £10.  The collection, I would suspect, would be more likely to go if you included the special with it.

None of them are particularly rare / distinguished.  Same is true with the meg.  A couple of variant covers / misprints but otherwise they are fairly generic and common.

I've learned that its actually hard to get the current weekly price of the prog £2.75 for any 30-40 year old comic unless:

- Progs 1 - 78 seem to hold their value
- Battle pre - "ban"

Or you dress them up with Specials.

I'm as bad as the rest, I want 110 - 200 but wouldn't pay much more than £120 for a set. I think there are just too many out there and unless you are prepared to sell individual issues, sets have to be heavily discounted to get any traction - most fans will already have some of what you are selling.

You probably know the Nemesis Poster Prog is quite (very?) rare. The banned Cursed Earth progs have probably lost some value due to the Uncensored reprints but Prog 1208 should still hold its rarity in perpetuity (most copies were destroyed in a flood).
