Its the same Will Simpson also to be seen on tonights regional telly:

7:30 pm Inside Out

On Halloween evening Joe Lindsay is in Londonderry in search of ghosts, and we meet the local artist who is the drawing force behind the Batman and Judge Dredd comics.

Oh,that's him then?

The only problem is,when Joe Lindsay comes on screen(so he does),Mrs Mikey dissolves into paroxisms of rage including gnashing of teeth and mutterings of "that feckin ganche"

I don't really know why.

Always remember the Will Simpson Dredd that has the alleyway at the back of Robinson's in it. It was one of those South American Judge things (can't remember it's name) I also recall the look on his face at a signing in Dark Horizons when my kid brother presented him with some Transformer comics to sign....

I now know why your missus has an issue with charmless gobshite Lindsay - he didn't do himself any favours by inferring Simpson was the only artist to draw Judge Dredd, certainly not when Simpson himself went on to tell how he got Steve McManus to give him a shot at 2000ad.

Just watched it, did paint rather a picture of Will as being the only artist to have ever worked in comics ever. Still good to see there are other people wanting to draw comics in Norn Iron. Lets hope the bastards fail miserably and I get all the work eh?

It's pretty standard tactics for local journalism.  Anyone local doing anything notable MUST BE the very best/most important/super-duperist in their chosen field.

According to a feature years ago in the Edinburgh evening paper, Simon Fraser and I invented Judge Dredd.  Which wasn't exactly what we remembed saying in the interview.

It's also spelt "ganch" or "gaunch" so it is. It can be used to describe an individual as in
"thons a ignarnt ganch" or the less common but still acceptable "he was ganching so I gave him a dig in the bake"

The BBC have a weeker Norn Iron dicshunery at this link so they do.

I believe that the word "ganche",however you spell it, refers to parts only ladies possess.Below the equator, like.

But I'm open to suggestions.

But it was good to see *some* recognition for Will and a mention of toothy.
