Or "Gundam meets Bay", or perhaps "shit meets fan".

I see the Strokes get a Tshirt in the film. Kind of puts them on the map.

As for the transforming; either it was the trailer making it look a bit messy or it might be a bit messy. Compared to the graceful way it is done in the cartoons. I mean. And the citreon c4 ad.

Bico

Yeah, but it was only a shitty Citreon then, not some uber-complicated mechanical device with more moving parts.  Like a toaster.

Generic trailer from generic moviemen, so it's hard to tell anything about it other than that they're channeling Independence Day - Spielberg must really love that movie - and a bit of Stargate/Godzilla in there too.  Roland Emmerich must be proud his skillful moviemaking is influencing another generation of film-makers, but about all I can remember about Michael Bey is that the bit in Armageddon when the space-shuttles are crashing on the asteroid, when it was kind of important to keep track of who was on which shuttle, I couldn't understand who was on each shuttle - and the rest of the movie was slightly confusing because of this.

"I couldn't understand who was on each shuttle"

Oh I'm pretty sure it didn't matter.  Any movie that can make me want to see less of Liv Tyler doesn't warrant much in the way of understanding.

As I am waiting for thwe trialer to load up now. I am wondering it's the same one I saw earlier.

The treaser with the mars probe gets Fubar-ed by one oif the roboticons. It didn't get much of warning before it got trashed.

Buttonman

That trailer had more fast cuts than Freddie Kruger having a wank!

The trailer looks like principal photography has been completed but they are still waiting for the CGI stuff from the chemists.

Not impressed with what has been seen so far. No wonder Soundwave is looking for alternative employment.

Holy Shit I just wet me self, Bay might just pull this off(Note I was watching this without sound so all I saw was cool visuals no shite acting).
Oh and all they showed was the top of Optimus head, fekkers.

As long as it has Stan Bush's "the Touch' on the soundtrack - and not in an ironic way, like playing on a stereo in the background of a scene - all will be well.  Anyone who can claim to have done the themes for Transformers the movie, Kickboxer and Bloodsport deserves recognition for his contribution to the futherance of slightly-seedy old men wailing like girls about their once-proud libido.

The cgi isn't actually much better in that trailer than the fan-made efforts that did the rounds for a while (some of which are included with dvd sets of the cartoons).  You'd expect something  utterly jaw-dropping when it's from some of the world's most highly-paid nerds.

Humanity's suspicions that it had been infultrated were arounsed with the appearance of an enormous cassette tape.

That's a point - would Shockwave turn into a CD now, this film being made in the terrible hyperealistic futureworld of today?

Even more importantly, why am I asking such a pointlessly nerdy question?

Buttonman

Because you are a pointless nerd of course!

Or maybe just one is disguise! Virgo - transform!
