General / Little Britian in the Simpsons?
21 January, 2005, 10:21:42 AM
Hi folks,
Been busy with work for the past few months but will try to post when I can.  Did anyone see yesterdays Metro article on Little Britian and the Simpsons?  Seems that Matt Groenig wants David Willaims and Matt Lucas to have a few of their creations from the show visit Springfield!

Whats next?

News / Babylon 5 Star Dies
26 May, 2004, 12:24:31 AM
Hi folks,
Just had this information in my mail and thought it apt to share.

Marc

STORY TAKEN FROM CNN

Richard Biggs, who played Dr. Stephen Franklin on "Babylon 5" and
also had a long run on the soap opera "Days of Our Lives," died
Saturday. He was 44, according to the actor's Web site.

A posting on a "Babylon 5" message board by J. Michael Straczynski,
the sci-fi show's creator, said the cause of death has not been
determined but that "paramedics who showed up suggested it was
either an aneurysm or a massive stroke."

Biggs, a graduate of the University of Southern California School of
Theatre, gained his first major exposure as Dr. Marcus Hunter
on "Days of Our Lives." He was on the NBC show for five years.

He also appeared on Lifetime's "Any Day Now" and "Strong Medicine."
Most recently, he played Clayton Boudreaux on the CBS soap
opera "Guiding Light."

"Babylon 5" fans and staff were shocked by his passing.

"Richard was a consummate professional, but more than that he was an
honorable, stand-up guy," Straczynski wrote in his posting. "He was,
quite simply, a terrific guy, and everyone here is just devastated
at the news."

Biggs is survived by his wife, Lori Gerber, and two sons.

Help! / Chief Judge Griffins first name?
22 February, 2004, 03:16:17 AM
Hi folks,
I am currently writting an article for Mongoose Publishing's Signs and Portents magazine, about the Chief Judges of Mega-City One and for the life of me cant remember the first name of Chief Judge Griffin or find any reference to it anywhere!

I was hoping that someone on the boards (looking to that walking encylopidea of Dredd Mr Wake here) can tell me his first name.

You can post replies here on the boards or mail me anytime at marc@dreddtimes.com

Thanks very much,
Marc

General / 2000AD Characters in Indyclix
15 August, 2003, 07:41:51 PM
Hi,
The full listing of all the characters in Wizkids upcoming Indyclix should be going live very soon, but I have managed to get a sneak peek thanks to a friend in the industry and thought that you would all like to see.

Indyclix will continue on the strength of the multi-award winning Marvel Heroclix, by introducing characters from independant comic book houses such as Dark Horse, CrossGen, Top Cow, and of course 2000AD. The game is being released in two formats, the first will contain characters from CrossGen and is to launched in America, while the second will contain characters from 2000AD and will be launched in the UK.

The reasoning behind this duel launch is given that 2000AD and its characters are not as well known in America, and vice versa with CrossGen in the UK.

Each set will still contain characters from both comic houses, but they will appear as uniques rather than regular characters.

As with Heroclix, each character in Indyclix will have a set points value and its own characteristics that allow it to be played in the game. Figures are in one of four catagories; Rookies (R): the basic version of the character; Experienced (E): a more advanced version of the character; Veteran(V): the most advanced version of the character, with more skills or powers and able to take more damage before being removed from play; Unique(U): a limited edition version of the character, often with a repainted scheme or different pose.

Here is a list of the 2000AD characters from Indyclix that will be in the UK version of the game.

MegaCity Judge (R.E.V)
Judge Anderson (R.E.V)
Johnny Alpha   (R.E.V)
Judge Hershey  (R.E.V)
Wulf Sturnhammer (R.E.V)
Torquamada     (R.E.V)
Nemesis the Warlock  (R.E.V)
Judge Dredd (R.E.V)
Judge Fire (U)
Judge Mortis (U)
Judge Fear (U)
Judge Death (U)

More details as and when I get them.

News / More Indyclix News
29 July, 2003, 04:18:58 AM
Hi,
I recieved a letter from Hobby Games this morning, the official UK distributor for Heroclix, confirming pre-order details for the September release of Indyclix. Indyclix will contain characters from a wide range of independant comic books, but perhaps of interest here is the characters from our very own 2000AD.

Judge Dredd and Johnny Alpha have already been confirmed, with promos of both figures being given away at this years Toy Fare at Earls Court in London, but now we have the addition of Wulf Sternhammer, Torquemada and a Brit-Cit Judge.

It seems that these are just the first in the 2000AD range of characters and more will be annouced on the WizKids website closer to the launch of the game.

The free newspaper Metro has a short Q&A section with 2000AD artist Bryan Talbot today, talking mostly about Tale of One Bad Rat and giving out his lecture dates. If you haven't had the fortune to see one of Bryans lectures, please try to go they are excellent.
