It's half term up here so I took Tiny Tips along to see it.

He sat enthralled throughout the whole thing - he was most taken with Florence.

I on the other hand, may have been spoilt by Pixar. I thought this was a particularly bad throwback to the kind of "It's only kids, they'll never notice it's crap" scholl of film making.

It's an endless cacophony of overnoisy chases, intrusive songs, witless script and senseless plot.  The attempts at humour "for the adults" are particularly shoddy.  They also shoehorn a load of songs in to extend the running time.

I actually can't remember much of the original TV show (not the french political satire - or is that an urban myth?) but I'd proabably hate that if I watched it now

Robbie Williams voice acting matches his talent for singing - he obviously doesn't need the money so he must have thought this was good in some way. He remains at the top of my annoying twats list despite their being war criminals and corporate manslaughterers and many worse criminals about.

Send the small children to see it with their estranged father.  He deserves to suffer... you don't.

The local paper described Magic Roundabout as a 'Quintissentially British' Kids TV show.  Well, apart from the fact it's french, yeah.

I was hoping to sleep through it, but ended up having fun! shock, dottage indeed.

Noticed there're no Emma or Sophie Thompson in the cast, nor Phylida Law for that matter. Wonder why. Were they not asked? Did they turn it down? Seems a shame.

I saw this with Finn. He liked it, but although it didn't make me cringe (too much) it was the worst film I've seen with him. The others, in my order of preference, are The Incredibles, Shrek 2, Finding Nemo and then Brother Bear.

Gah. I was really hoping the promotion was misleading and this would turn out to be not shit, but I haven't heard a good review so far.

Still, if it's a hit, perhaps it'll persuade them to put "Dougal and the Blue Cat" out on DVD, or even some original episodes(long shot, I know).
