Very true, very true. It's basically measuring the triumph of hype and advertising, although there will be a hell of a lot of Spider-Man fans out there. But anyway, by the sound of things, you've prejudged them anyway, seeing as you don't want to see them. And what the hell is Amelie? Some french bollocks or what?

Before I get myself into another argument, that wasn't meant to be a nasty reply. What is Amelie about, I've heard of it but been a bit wary.

Amelie is great. A little more down to Earth (and more of a 'date movie') than Delicatessen or City of Lost Children. Funny and well acted.

Aaaah, it's wotsisname than. I liked City of the Lost Children, although I only saw the dubbed version, which apparently isn't as good as the subtitled one, understandably.

Amelie is a great film but if you don't like Magic Realism or whimsy then steer clear of it.
