You're welcome, dude - hope you enjoy the book.

This was a general 'spirit of the board' award, although specifically for making me pee my pants on the film pitch thread.  Which is a good thing.  Mmmmm...peeee.  Sorry, I've been reading 'Planet Simpson'.  Anyway...

Shane, I'm reading Planet Simpson by Chris Turner at the mo, and the 'life in a mall' syndrome gets brought up a lot during the analysis of one of the world's greatest satirical works.

I recommend this book, if only because interspersed with all the depressing stuff about how little people think (I mean actually think) or question anything these days, you get reminders of so many great gags (e.g. Sideshow Luke Perry being fired from a cannon on Krusty's show, missing the nets, going through Springfield's sandpaper museum ("My face, my valuable face!") and landing in a pillow factory.  Which is then demolished with explosives).

Lets face it, we could all do with a few more laughs today.

Heh - fantastic to see those transfers again, Ed.

Dr. Who weekly was the source of my childhood era female-relative-throws-comics-in-skip moment.  First 40-odd issues (or something) - "You didn't want those old things, surely?" "Aaaarrrrgggh!!!"

Heh - and Snuff did "I think we're alone now" which was pure class.  That and the Shake 'n' Vac theme.

Noisy, try the link below, seems comprehensive, if variable in quality.  Good luck.

Sad sad sad.

The only person to ever to say a bad word about him was Germaine Greer as far as I know, and that's only because he gave her the clap.

Teenage kicks will be played a lot tonight, I'm sure.
