Sometime forumer, games artist and one of 2000 AD's biggest American fans Mimikeke/Emily Zeinner who flew all the way from the US to London for the 40th has managed to bag a gig with the prog :D

2000 AD broke the news a few hours ago on Twitter and she's been tweeting excitedly about it ever since. A true testament to putting your art where your heart is - here are some of her unique 2000 AD fan pieces for the uninitiated :

Congrats Emily :D
Fantastic news!
This is just brilliant news! Congrats Mimikeke, and well deserved.
Excellent! Looking forward to seeing it! Did I read it'll only be the second female artist to do a cover too?
And those stickers would be a great merch idea. Just sayin.
Great news
Ah, that's fantastic. I saw the tweet but didn't make the connection till now. Chuffed to bits for you.
I really, really like the version of the 2000AD logo on that wrapping paper thingy.
Sad to say I'd never heard of this artist before or seen her astonishingly delightful work. Love that Valentine's card, excited to see what she does for the Prog! Thanks for sharing, CFM.
Oh, and for people keeping score on the 'female cover artist' front, there are at least three previous, Maya Gavin and Fay Dalton, (although technically they were both on the Megazine), and of course Angie Kincaid/Mills on Prog 330, kicking off Slaine in style.

She was a regular (and enthusiastic) boarder here for two/three years in the wake of the 2012 film...! Contributed to a few of the art comps and calendars, too.
Go, Mimikeke! I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Wasn't she getting married too about the same time? I seem to remember a Dredd cake topper or something "crafty" like that.
Loving the wrapping paper, and looking forward to her contribution.
Yeah! :P Go Girl!
Being made up into a droid? Grand stuff!
IIRC, Mimikeke did a cracking Hershey piece - amongst other bits - a while ago, so looking forward to seeing the end results this time round.
And those stickers are aces. Tharg really does need to start doing free gifts again...
Excellent work. Finally, that Dredd/Sims crossover is one step closer!
I actually asked a lady with a homemade Judge logo cardigan at the 40th if she was Mimikeke. She wasn't.

eek! I done something similar :-\
I briefly spoke to Emily when she dropped a few things off at the S/D table, really chuffed she's got a gig on the prog.
When I saw that Hershey pic, it did look like a lost cover.

Hah! Almost did the same but someone told me it wasn't just in time.
Was a great cardigan though on a teeny lady.
Dunk!
I think that was Kelly who was hosting the John/Carlos panel.
Excellent news!
Look forward to seeing this
Great news!
The more the merrier to the house of Tharg.
It's great that 2000AD continues to give exposure to new artists and those less familiar to these shores.
That is Rian Hughes-level gorgeousness.
Wow.
This is indeed fantastic news. Mind you, I'm still trying to figure out the linguistic alchemy that produces a word as lovely as "mimikeke" simply by sticking the word 'mike' in the middle of the word 'mike'!

Yes, I thought she was a bloke called Mike for a long time before she posted a picture of her nails painted in a 2000ad theme.
Awesome news; I love mimikeke's stuff and miss having her round the board. (And once again, it's a welcome erosion of the prog's frat club tradition.)
Ah, that's who that was. I met her at the 40th event. She gave me a little Rogue Trooper and biochip artwork key ring fob she'd made. (Which unfortunately broke a few days ago.)
I am delighted to hear this, Mimikeke is a real talent. Z
MORE!

Whereas Stevie then assumed that Buttonman had changed his moniker.
Ooops. :-[
Just catching up on this. Well done Mimikeke! Well deserved
Absolutely wonderful news!
Thanks for your support, guys!
For anyone interested, I post mostly on Twitter and Instagram under @emilyzeinner where I express my fandom in weird ways :) These were the double-sided charms I made to give away at the 40th bash.

@GordonR: sorry your charm broke! Need to use thicker acrylic next time :)
