What is the two-page Strontium Dog story "The Attackers" in prog 191?  I've never heard of that...!

Its a poster, that was one of 4(?) showcasing a character from different comics - to get the set, you had to buy the other three comics, all with their own "attacker".

Funt Solo

vis-a-vis "The Attackers" - I should have that noted as a [SPU] (star pin-up).  Woops.

I remember getting it at the time, but knowing that there was no force on Earth that would persuade me to buy Roy Of The Rovers.

What's surprising me about doing this is little details such as the page count increasing to 44 for 23 progs.  Oh, and Vector 13 usurping Tharg for about 15 progs.  And the amount of crap that we had to read inbetween golden ages.

Note also that Tharg has a sense of humour:  he charged us 60p extra for 10 pages of B.L.A.I.R.1 in prog 1084.

Good grief, this is interesting work.  There's so much that's different from my own spreadsheet geekness, and of course I own very few of the first 200 progs.

About the only quibble I have is merging what I'd consider the first two Mean Team stories into one 26-part story.  Otherwise, this is amazing.

You're probably right.

In the beginning (the first 300-ish progs) I checked my info. against this site's database and generally went with that.  However, I sped up the process after that and completed it all fairly fast without much reference to the database here (except to get names to un-titled Future Shocks and the like).

You've got the ABC Warriors episodes in progs 557 & 558 both labeled as episode 3; that's thrown off the numbering for the rest of the Black Hole series.

I do like the way you've used brackets to indicate either unofficial titles, or ones not printed in the actual episodes.  Good choice!

Cheers - well spotted!

I'll fix that later (& if it's the only mistake that's crept in then I'll eat my hat).

Here's a weird thing I noticed - mostly everyone I've heard talk about 2K through the ages agrees that there was a golden age in the early years, followed by a meandering slump and then an upwards turn that (arguably) has led to a new golden age.

Now, look at the data for the number of pages.

The slump begins roughly where the page count goes up to 36 (around about prog 600) and doesn't fully recover until the page count goes back down to 32 (prog 1077).

32 is the magic Betelgusian number of zarjazness!

(And, yes, I realise I've spent far too long thinking about this and will now retire to a nearby hostelry, get blind drunk and wonder what I'm doing with my life.)
