Gordy- that looks grand!

I've done the whole Sunday hangover thing at a gig in Bristol back in the day- I really don't recommend it.
I'll try to get over at some point but I'm in the Originals Marquee.

The Medusa Chronicles by Stephen Baxter & Alastair Reynolds.

Not finished yet, about halfway through and really enjoying it. The pair are playing in a universe created by Arthur C Clarke, but I'm loving trying to work out which writer wrote what.

Sinx- Please stop by the FQP table at TB this weekend. I'd like to see the sample pages, too. Same goes for any arty types at TB this weekend.

Really enjoyed the Meg this month, and just want to single out the Anderson strip. It's been a while since I've enjoyed an Alan Grant as much as this and it was a cracking companion bookend to the Wagner Dredd.

Also- Inaki Miranda drew the stomm out of the pages! Superb work.

Gotta say it's a real thrill to see two local Belfast lads and Belfast Sector 13 group members: Mark McCann and Adam Brown having a future shock printed this week.  Adam has done two covers recently also for the Megazine. Well done guys. Z

I had a chat with Mark at Lawgiver too and he never mentioned any of this! Well done lads, it is nice to have a new pair of droids commissioned.

Creative Common / Re: Thought Bubble scripts

Hmmm, from memory the TB competition scripts are hosted on the TB site, so unless previous entrants have them I'm not sure you find them on the 2000 AD site.

This years art comp script is available from:

The Thought Bubble comp page

So good luck getting the script ready in time.

Andy- sorry to read you've hit this point. I've been involved in making comics in one form or another for most of my life. Up until I was mid twenties I harboured the illusion that my artistic skills were sufficient and with enough pages under my belt I'd be sure to find myself in the position of a highly sought after artist.

That didn't happen, obviously. However, I've managed to build my hobby into something that I feel has a genuine benefit to others. When I see someone go from the SP up to being a pro it feels like nothing else in the world. To know that I had a part in nurturing that talent is amazing.

The strips I've had from you feel like you are just getting started. Seriously.

There are quite a few folk here who I've published over the years and others who I wish were still creating but for their own reasons are not.

I can't offer you advice on getting through your current lull (Jovus, if you only knew how many times I've told Richmond I was thinking of knocking it on the head...) but I can tell you that your work is valued.

Take care.

Getting a Colin Macneil cover for Dogbreath is the second highest 'grail' choice of artist for me.

Simon Harrison being the number 1 choice, obviously.

It's like you were reading my mind...

So if a certain Spanish gentleman offered, you wouldn't be that interested?  ;)

Ah, DDD- the true San-grail has already turned me down unfortunately. Maybe one day, Grud willing.
