Well, sort of........

The following page of artwork goes up for auction on Ebay on Sunday (exact details to follow).

As it is for a very good cause I thought I would carry out a bit of
promotional work!

Some history........
The page above featured in the recent 'Just1Page' charity comic (Issue 3 -
see the website for further details!).
For those of you not familiar with 'Just1Page - it is a comic full of 1
page pictures and strips produced by industry professionals and aspiring
amateurs alike with all profits from the comic being donated to Childline.
To raise further money, a lot of the work featured will be auctioned over
the coming weeks - starting with the original artwork to the page shown
above.

About the page.......
The jpeg shows the page in it's published form - the actual artwork only
differs in so far as it is not lettered and does not have black borders
around the panels (although I could add the black borders if the
auction-winner so wishes).
The original artwork is on A3 Bristol board (approximately 30cm x 42cm) and
finished in permanent black ink.
I will also include a high-quality A4 print (approximately published size)
of the finished page as it appeared in 'Just1Page'.
The strip was written by Eddie Robson - his website appeared as a credit in
'Just1Page', but I didn't see his actual name.  So here it is!

A plea on behalf of the artist.....
Please don't let this sell for a pound ! ! !
It took a long time to complete under hectic circumstances.  It also comes
with the added bonus (??) of coming with extra-sentimental value (I started
it as I sat in hospital with my newborn first child sleeping on my knee).
So it would be appreciated if it went to a good home (.....the page that
is, not my first child).
This is also the first time I have parted with a picture in over a decade -
and it hurts already.
I think that will do for pleading.

Thanks for listening!

Simon Penter.

"It took a long time to complete under hectic circumstances."

Did they do the same thing to you of not telling you that you were supposed to be doing it until about a week prior to the deadline?

Worth pointing out that this page was paid for by Future Quake (though they forgot to include the banner in the printed version). I hope it sells well, since it's a gorgeous page and was also pretty much unanimously declared the highlight of J1P (and there was some pretty stiff competition from the likes of Alan Davis, Mike Collins and Charlie Adlard).

Si Logan

Sorry about missing out Future Quake there - an unintentional error!

I definately had more than a week - but my baby had a traumatic birth and was causing a lot of stress at the time - I had to do a lot of this sitting in my car in my work car-park at lunch times!

"I had to do a lot of this sitting in my car in my work car-park at lunch times!"

It doesn't show - that's lovely work. Imagine how mind-blowing the work would be if you were actually able to sit down and take your time over it!

Bolt-01

Never knew that. And that page is awesome. I've got a full res version on my hard drive and the details in there are just superb.

A name to look out for in future- this page will be a definate boost to a personal collection.

I wish I'd known you had a full res version Bolt - I could have used that to make an extra mini-comic for the LF&CC (though the ones we had proved to be popular anyway).

Bolt-01

I've got the Monster squad one as well.

Both of these pages will be displayed on the futurequake website eventually. Not yet though.

.....I have had a look on EBAY and this appeared a couple of hours ago.

If anyone is interested (currently at $15) if you type item number;

6543861094

....into the search engine you will go straight to it (if anyone knows how to put a link up I'd appreciate it!).

The description says it is on A4 - this is incorrect - it is on A3 (see all details above).

Thanks again.
Simon.

You'll be lucky, Rac! I haven't even put my bid in yet, and it's probably going to be way over my limit by the time I do.
