Not sure if this needs it's own new thread but if you could share this wherever you can think it needs to go:

The family of our beloved Bolt have asked me to share a JustGiving page for his funeral.

Also - and I cannot emphasise this enough - don't be afraid to reach out if you're in pain and forgive yourself always. You are not alone ❤

That last sentence. I was, just over a week ago. I did reach out to a friend. It helped so much.

Men find it difficult to seek and accept help. Understand that and take the step. It may save your life.

Yeah, same here. I've had quite the year (I mean, everyone has, but still...). A friend (who shall remain nameless to spare his blushes / save stoking his massive ego) who I met via this very board was good enough to check in on me and listen to my moaning about stuff I'd brought upon myself. Sometimes all it takes is to have a good old gripe and get things off your chest, particularly during these interesting times, where you don't get to see anybody and taking off down the pub with your mates isn't an option.

As others have said more succinctly and eloquently than me, if you feel like you've got nobody to talk about this stuff with, you're wrong. If we're in contact - however distantly - I'd 100% rather listen to a friend (or even an acquaintance) complaining about whatever's bothering them than have to read another one of these threads.

That's me, third from left. Increasingly accurate depiction.

I haven't seen Dave in a few years. Life kinda gets in the way. The first Lawgiver con back in... 2014, I think?
Extremely weird and unsettling to think I won't run into him at some as-yet-unnanounced, post-Covid DreddShedFredcon. Bad times.

There's far too many old boarders and treasured droids calling me back to this bloody forum by not being around any more. Enough now. Please stop it.

Thoughts are very much with Dave's family and friends. Rich: be kind to yourself today, mate.

Utterly, utterly stunned by this. I met Stewart a number of times at various comics events and I liked him a lot. He knew his stuff and he was a good guy. Gutted.

I've just marathoned the full run (to date) of Archer, and followed it up with season one of American Horror Story. A fine way to end a lurgy-filled Christmas break.

Music / Re: What's everyone listening to...?

My post-breakup angry metal phase has finally burnt itself out and I went to see Arthur Brown play in Liverpool last night. Excellent stuff! I picked up a copy of his new album while I was at it, so that's this evening's listening sorted, then.

I simply installed PowerAmp on my Android phone and never looked back.
Well, apart from that time my phone chewed up a 32gb SD card. That sucked.

I think it's probably a mistake to make any assumptions on Rebellion's behalf. For my money, it's a bit, er, IDW.

Cheers all. I know there's not much I can do but ride it out. Pretty sure there's nothing I can do to change it. Despite having been (though I say so myself) an exemplary boyfriend, she appears to be an even better commitment-phobe. She dumped the last boyfriend in similar circumstances (flew home to visit family, dumped him when they got back).  I didn't go with her on this trip, as he had reportedly made the last trip a nightmare and she deserved to spend some time alone with her family and friends. It does seem to be a recurring theme, though. I just hope she doesn't end up describing me in the same way she did him.

I know - the logical bit of my mind is saying "just suck it up and give it time - it will pass". Unfortunately, it's being bullied mercilessly by the wanky emotional bit of my mind. Arsebiscuits...

Not dealing with my sudden and unexplained singledom very well. It turns out I was rather attached to this one.

Logically, I know there's nothing I can do about it and I should just move on. Unfortunately, my body and brain are ganging up on me. I'm not sleeping, I'm turning the whole thing over and over in my head, looking for even the vaguest hint of an explanation, and I'm producing industrial quantities of adrenaline, which is leaving me fidgety, restless and irritable. To put this in some kind of context: I've been to the gym four times in the last week, just to give me an outlet. It hasn't helped.

Also unhelpful is the sudden and prolonged disappearance of all my friends, who I could *really* do with going for a drink with. I had to make do with a poor quality work's do on friday, which just made me feel worse. You know it's been a particularly bad weekend when you're glad to get back into work on Monday morning...  :'(

*Edited to add: I have, at least, resisted the urge to contact her directly. I messaged her sister, to arrange to return some stuff and make sure she was doing OK. The sister - while not saying anything specific and sounding superficially sympathetic - made it very clear I should probably just go away.

Games / Re: steam keys

By way of giving something back, VG247 and Bundle Stars regularly give away Steam Keys for slightly older games. Right now, it's Afterfall InSanity

EDIT: I've just Wiki'd it and it seems it's a bit poo. Ah well...

...and the worst part of it is*, she told me her dad was a 2000AD reader when she was a kid, so I gave her a Johnny Alpha action figure to give him when she went visiting a fortnight ago!

*May not actually be the worst part

Jeez, that's awful, Goaty!
I have literally nothing helpful to contribute beyond "take care of each other".

I was thinking "Sulk for a few days then start auditioning for a replacement".
