A fuse just blew. The lights have gone off.
BUT...  I was just, er, relieving myself while on a hike last week and found a camouflage bag hanging from a tree.  I opened it and found one of those geocache GPS box things.  I took an item from it, in return for two miniature My Little Ponies one of my fellow hikers had found on the bus.
That item was a head-mounted torch. Thanks, geocache!

Judging for the trailer...I'm looking forward to Dredd's new line...
'The Puppies were uncooperative!'

Good stuff...can't wait to see more.

You and your tits.

Hmmm.  I'd love to say that I absolutely love it.  Truth is, though, I quite like it. Of course he can update and change his style any time he wants - he's definitely earned that right - but I preferred the way he used to draw Slaine. That's just me though.  Great to see him back anyway

One thing that has struck me since watching Linkara's (always hilarious if often mean-spirited) reviews of ASBAR, as he calls it, is just how lazy the writing is as well as just being a bit of a shambles.
The timeline, for example, makes zero sense and jumps around for no real reason.  Splash pages take up huge, huge segments of comic where stories could be told.  Miller seems to forget things he's already written in the script and really seems to have no real interest in his characters.
That said, I enjoyed it; the dialogue was so bad it was fascinating and the art was genuinely lovely.  I'd like to see a film of it in the same way I like shlock-horror B movies - they're terrible but good fun.

Film & TV / Re: Johnny Depp spits the dummy

Hmmm.  I didn't care much for the Pirates films, but Depp's character was a stroke of genius - combining Keith Richards and Pepe le Peu was brilliant.  The Lone Ranger, though, looks a bit boring and I won't be going to see it - but I still regard Depp as a fine actor and his wacky persona has served him well in other films.

That is SB Davis and Clint Langley, isn't it?

As in literally they have just painted themselves as Slaine.

Glenn Fabry used to do the same.

And Simon Bisley.  Nice covers, them

A thought just entered my head:  Which would be worse, the actual Batman and Robin movie of a few years ago, or a film version of Frank Miller's All-Star Batman and Robin (if there was an ending to it, which thankfully there never will be)?
I'm going with the actual film, because at least Miller's one has Superman and Wonder Woman in it, appalling though it is.

Make everybody happy- cast Eastwood as Alfred...

It would make Frank 'Everyone Character is Tough and Violent' Miller happy, anyway.

That's going to look great Brian! Where is it going to go?

Cheers, Johnny! It'll be a wall opposite Spar facing the river, if it goes ahead.  Part of the health clinic or whatever that building there is. Great work on the sexy Confederate chick, by the way!

Brings me right back to my 10p arcade game days!  Great idea for a competition; looking forward to the entries!  (I've just watched Breakfast on Pluto; Cillian Murphy looks alarmingly good as a lady)

You could've saved Lucasfilm a lot of money.

Probably not.  The SFX costs of two galaxies colliding! would have been considerable.

It sounds frickin' awesome.  I'm sure George Lucas would happily find a way to fuck it up then sell it to Disney.

Thanks! Bleeding Mannerist it is then! I used to know all this art terminology in my student days, but that's a long time ago
