General / John Wagner - What A Lovely Bloke!
01 September, 2015, 01:08:28 PM
I took my lad down to the Bournemouth Film & Comic Con on Saturday and despite a lack of comic content (common with many "comic cons" these days it seems) in favour of TV and film stuff we did get to meet the mighty John Wagner! And what a lovely bloke he was.
Quite happy to chat and sign stuff - and not charge for the privilege like most of the other guests- he made my little boy's year. He signed his copy of the old Dredd vs Death collection, and personalised it for him, and then when we bought a copy of the new Dark Justice hardcover from him he signed that one to him as well. It's Tuesday now and he's still talking about it (my son, not John Wagner!) and carrying Dark Justice around everywhere with him.
I would just like to take this opportunity to say thanks to John for being so nice and patient, taking the time to chat, and to apologise for our abysmal weather! Apparently, after being booked for a con at the seaside he decided to make a week of it down here with his wife. Their intention was to spend the week taking some lovely coastal walks and, to quote the great man, "it rained every bloody day"! Sorry John!

Classifieds / Calling All Completists!
28 April, 2015, 09:45:34 AM
So there are 7 volumes of the Dredd Mega Collection out now and I'm starting to think about how and where to store them - and just how much space 80 volumes will take! But as well as the initial 7 volumes I've also got 3 volumes from the original test release as well.
10 years ago the completist in me wouldn't think anything of 3 extra volumes - in fact I'd be pleased to have something quite unique - but post wife, house and child I've come to terms with the fact that I can no longer collect and display absolutely everything Tooth related. :'(
So, rather than stick them away in the loft where they will gather dust and be forgotten about I've decided to let them go and stick them on ebay. I'm sure there are one or two fans on here who still have that freedom I used to enjoy and would like to add them to their collections!
Please bear in mind that these are the test area editions from 2014. They have different spine art and volume numbers so if you are looking to plug a hole in your collection from this year please be aware that they won't match up.
Here's the link for anyone interested and thanks all for reading my post!

General / January Subs Query
14 January, 2015, 10:22:46 AM
Just wondering if any fellow subbers have had the January sub taken out of their accounts yet? It was obviously going to be later this month because of the New Year but it's the 14th now and I've not had a payment taken since the start of December. Not that I'm complaining about NOT having to pay something mind, just curious :)

Fresh from the floor of London Super Comic Con a glimpse of some of 2014's upcoming thrills thanks to Rich Johnston and Bleeding Cool. Including the return of the Summer Special, old school Robo Hunter and Wagner/Macneil Dredd. Looks like we're going to get spoiled with some fine thrills this year!

Website and Forum / Where Have All The T-Shirts Gone?
15 February, 2013, 11:38:10 AM
So I've updated my sub details like a good Squaxx and earned my discount voucher and I thought I'd put it towards a brand spanking new Tooth T-shirt. But when I look in the shop there are only 2 t-shirts available there, in limited sizes.
Anyone know what's happening? Is the shop going to stop stocking T's in favour of the ones available elsewhere online or is new stock on the way? Fingers crossed!

Hi guys. Just a quick heads up that I've put a copy of the first colour Dredd album from Titan on eBay. Subtitled The Streets of Mega-City it reprints some of the early annual stories by Wagner & McMahon. Hopefully it might be of interest to someone here. If not, sorry for bothering you! Cheers.

News / Tooth Spotted in Other Publications
05 February, 2010, 10:04:49 AM
I don't know if anyone has spotted these yet but, over the past day, I've spotted some fairly big Tooth references in 2 other publications.
The "political" cartoon in today's Sun has Thomas Legg dressed up as Dredd, complete with 2K logo while the new issue of Garth Ennis's The Boys has one of the characters buying a shedload of old progs for another character. The phrase "Thrill Power" even gets a mention in the dialogue!

General / Dredd T-Shirts in Burtons Sale
15 July, 2009, 10:19:55 AM
Don't know if anyone else has spotted these, they came as a suprsie to me, but Burtons have 2 Dredd t-shirts for sale at the moment. In fact they've had them for so long they are actually now reduced in the sale. The "You're next punk" one is only £4! Anyway, thought you'd all appreciate the heads up.

General / Nikolai Dante - Is It All Just A Dream?
21 April, 2009, 09:24:44 AM
Reading the prog review threads over the last few weeks I wasa struck by the number of people commenting on how easily things were going for Dante in the latest series. And that got me thinking - could Dante still be in the Tsar's dungeons being tortured and/or going insane/being drugged? Look at the evidence- a relatively easy prison break, quick recovery from his torture, succesfully uniting people like Papa Yeltsin, his mother and Lulu, helpfully having all his old friends come back and help him. It all seems too easy.... Is the rug about to be pulled out from under us? Is Dante is worse shape than we previously thought? Could this be his last adventure in a way we weren't expecting?

I know we used to do this in the old days, before the big Message Board re-launch so I'm hoping it's still ok now! I've got a couple of Dredd graphic novels up on ebay this week if anyone fancies a look (and an old mobile if anyone's looking for a Motorola Razr!). Cheers.

Film & TV / Tooth On ITV
09 September, 2008, 09:30:32 AM
Has anyone seen the website for ITV's new superhero comedy yet? The "Geek Details" section reveals that the set has been dressed with, among other things, packets of fags branded Zarjazz and Stronts! The links section even has a link for this fine site (and a Zenith one)

No, not really. But it is a strange case of life imitating comics though!

14 April, 2008, 10:39:04 AM
The other ebay thread was getting a bit busy so I thought I'd try posting here.
I've got a Dredd You're Next Punk T-shirt just listed on ebay. I know it's an all time classic but I just haven't got room for it and I never wear it so it needs to go to a good home where someone can give it the love and attention it deserves!!

Morning all! I'm an occasional lurker here on the message board but I'm just de-lurking to let you know that, in a bout of baby son induced space clearing/desperate cash grabbing, I'm listing a few tooth related GN's on eBay. If you've got time check my auctions out please.
Cheers!
