Prog / Re: Subs notebook

Does anyone know when we Tooth only monthly subscribers get our chance to buy them? There's been an advert saying "soon" running for about the last 4 or 5 months now....

I've not had mine this week yet. My guess is Easter has hosed everything.
It's was in WH Smith's on Saturday though so it obviously left the printers in plenty of time to avoid Easter.

It looks like subscribers and off the shelf buyers seem to have swapped over this week and sub copies will presumably arrive on Wednesday :)

When I click Unread Posts I'm only getting 1 topic - The Star Wars thread. I mean, I love the new trailer but .......

That's a 3rd-party module so its probably only registering post's as unread from the time it was (re)activated this morning, I will have a look at it when I get a chance but it will grow as time goes on.

Yep. It's looking much better today. Thanks for checking.

General / John Wagner - What A Lovely Bloke!
01 September, 2015, 01:08:28 PM
I took my lad down to the Bournemouth Film & Comic Con on Saturday and despite a lack of comic content (common with many "comic cons" these days it seems) in favour of TV and film stuff we did get to meet the mighty John Wagner! And what a lovely bloke he was.
Quite happy to chat and sign stuff - and not charge for the privilege like most of the other guests- he made my little boy's year. He signed his copy of the old Dredd vs Death collection, and personalised it for him, and then when we bought a copy of the new Dark Justice hardcover from him he signed that one to him as well. It's Tuesday now and he's still talking about it (my son, not John Wagner!) and carrying Dark Justice around everywhere with him.
I would just like to take this opportunity to say thanks to John for being so nice and patient, taking the time to chat, and to apologise for our abysmal weather! Apparently, after being booked for a con at the seaside he decided to make a week of it down here with his wife. Their intention was to spend the week taking some lovely coastal walks and, to quote the great man, "it rained every bloody day"! Sorry John!

Books & Comics / Re: No more Comic Heroes

Necropost!!

Just flicking through Future's new A-Z of Superheroes thing in Smiths and at the bottom of the editorial page is a little box stating that Comic Heroes is coming back - "like Ras Al Ghul from a Lazarus Pit" apparently!

Due in shops on the 9th October. I wonder what has changed to make it viable again when it wasn't this time last year?

QuoteHi guys. If anyone managed to get a spare today or doesn't want their copy after they've read it, please let me know. My local comic shop's delivery went missing and they didn't get any copies in.  :'( The owner has tried to track them down but it looks like they may have gone to another shop. Gutted!!

Great news. Not only did my LCS owner manage to track down his missing delivery but he brought it round and delivered it to my house in person! Big shout out to Andy at Paradox Comics in Poole - give that man a Krill Tro Thargo for services to Thrill Power!

I've added pics of the spines, featuring Anderson Slaine & Skizz, to the ebay listing if anyone is curious.

It's easier to post a link the the auctions than to post the actual pictures!

Those test issues sound really interesting - other than the spines, are there any other identifying features on the books?
No, the front covers and the interiors are all the same, it's just the spines and volume numbers that differ. I asked Molch-R about it on here the other week and apparently the change in volume numbers was down to a shuffling of the collection contents by Matt Smith between the cancellation of the test run and the launch of the full run. The spine art on the test editions is Chris Weston's anniversary character montage from the other year.

Classifieds / Calling All Completists!

So there are 7 volumes of the Dredd Mega Collection out now and I'm starting to think about how and where to store them - and just how much space 80 volumes will take! But as well as the initial 7 volumes I've also got 3 volumes from the original test release as well.
10 years ago the completist in me wouldn't think anything of 3 extra volumes - in fact I'd be pleased to have something quite unique - but post wife, house and child I've come to terms with the fact that I can no longer collect and display absolutely everything Tooth related. :'(
So, rather than stick them away in the loft where they will gather dust and be forgotten about I've decided to let them go and stick them on ebay. I'm sure there are one or two fans on here who still have that freedom I used to enjoy and would like to add them to their collections!
Please bear in mind that these are the test area editions from 2014. They have different spine art and volume numbers so if you are looking to plug a hole in your collection from this year please be aware that they won't match up.
Here's the link for anyone interested and thanks all for reading my post!

Matt decided on the order, but that list was tinkered with since the tests were arranged so that's why they're different.

Cool, thanks for that. Interesting to see how these things work
