I got both the DVD and the Blu-Ray. Show of support and I haven't got a Blu-Ray player or 3D TV yet, but I will ;)

Also, every single friend I've recommended it to loved it! Even those who know nothing about the character at all. A common phrase was "Is the comicbook this cool?". :D

Found an interesting article about the Economics and Ramifications of Dredd

Sorry if it's been posted before.

Also, DVD and BluRay release in UK January 14th, 2013. But I guess you already know that. ;)

There are quite a few, how about this one:

Judge Anderson, watching MC-1 from the skateboard ramp at night. Beautiful scene, great atmosphere in that short break from all the carnage.

FINALLY saw Dredd! 12 Oct premiere over here (Sweden).

I saw Dredd last friday and again today, and it's a winner. I hugely underestimated what they could pull off. I'm especially impressed by the three lead actors. The satire is there, the black humor, the brutality. The economy of it all and the simplicity of the story only plays to its strengths. The final slo-mo scene is sublime, almost surreal and a beautiful ending to the film. And the score, just amazing. You immediately forget about expensive CGI since they nail the essence and atmosphere of Dredd and MC-1 so well. In my book, it's an 8.5-9 / 10.

And this is what makes the likely lack of sequels so damn painful. Adding insult to injury, RE:Retribution is doing better at the box-office...  >:(  :(  :'(

Life isn't fair.

"Citizen Tookey, you have been found guilty of being a rubbish film reviewer with the writing skills of a cursed earth rat. The sentence is writing for the Mail."

If anyone on this board is responsible for that comment on the DM review, I salute you!  :D

New clip on Digital Spy:

Admirable. :) What I like the most is that the block feels genuine and alive. May sound silly but many of the screen caps we've seen so far made the city feel kind of desolate but this looks great!

Haven't been here for a while, so I might have missed it but has anyone deciphered the ammo types on Dredd's Lawgiver? In the trailer close-up it says:

HIGH EX                                SEM
D:0.0 | 25ap | 25in | 25he | 50fmi

With "25he" highlighted I guess that's High Explosive. D = Distance (or is it another "0"?), in = Incendiary, ap = armor piercing? What is fmi? Or fm?

Apologies if this has already been asked.

Went down to my local Vue Cinema today and asked if I could take the Dredd posters off their hands when the release finished but was told all material is sent back to the distributers.Anybody had any luck with this?

In my experience, they're very particular about not letting the public get their hands on stuff like that. I guess it's because they want to make money off of selling posters instead as well as not having someone misrepresent the film in any way.

I've heard of one or two rare cases where the demand has been so high, they actually distributed free posters to the public so they wouldn't tear down the official ones.

Since rumours of the DJs in a sequel are getting stronger I had some inspiration today so I thought I'd post my dream teaser for Dredd 3 in this thread:

-------------------------

Camera pans over Mega City 1. The sun is going down, twilight. There are several pillars of smoke rising from the city. We hear the sound of crackling fire, embers drift in the breeze. We zoom closer towards a demolished block. Piles of bodies litter the ground, many of them still burning, some just smoldering ashes.

An eerie rasping voice whispers: -This city is guilty.

We pan across more bodies, this time some close-ups of faces. They look as if they died of fright, trails of dried blood run from their eyes.

A different voice, a deep echo from far away: -The crime is life.

Even more bodies are piled up, men and women, young and old. They are in various states of decay, some missing entire parts of their bodies that have melted away. Maggots and insects swarm across them.

Yet another voice, this time a beastly gurgling sound: -The sentence is...

The camera now shows us children, dead children brutally slaughtered in the street. It stops over a small boy clutching a cuddly toy, his heart has been torn out.

The screen turns black! In the darkness, decayed, rotting lips part across a wide rictus grin. The thing licks its teeth and whispers: -Death.

We cut to Dredd and Anderson standing amidst the carnage, looking up towards the camera. With grim determination the two judges aim their Lawgivers towards the audience. Four menacing shadows (one is partly burning) close in on them.

Cut to title:

DREDD 3
The Dark Judges

---------------------------

You know you want it! Thoughts?

Since it's been semi-confirmed that Dredd 2 would be set in the Cursed Earth and feature am 'Origins'-esque storyline, I'd like to see Dredd and his team (including Anderson and Giant) under attack from a mutant army lead by the Angel Gang.

Looks like we'll be getting Death and his pals for part 3.

Sounds great to me, basically my wishlist. There are so many good Cursed Earth enemies though, the Angel Gang is not at the top of my list. I love Satanus but I think it would be really hard to convey what made him so cool in the comic book. The backstory with his mom (who is even worse) and the duel on top of the volcano was really what made him different from just a rampaging T-Rex.

The DJs are so obvious as a finale, I just hope they don't go to Nolan on us in regards to that. Bring on the supernatural nightmares in all their glory! I even have a teaser for DREDD 3 running in my head, see my Dark Judges post.

Film Discussion / Re: Dredd 3D Glasses

Ok, it's Polaroid Eyewear and they come in a few different models. Here's a sample, there are a couple more:

They're about £25, but I got mine at a discount for £10.

Apparently it's supposed to be "passive" 3D for the cinemas. So I guess the ones Michaelvk posted should work.
