Today I bought a handful of comics off the iPad App to catch me up, and when I got onto the Rebellion site to download my DRM-Free copies, the download links lead to server error pages.

Anyone else having problems?

Hi -if you PM me the email address you use to log into your Rebellion Account on the 2000 AD iPad app I can look into this.  Also, could you let me know which particular Prog/Meg numbers are giving you errors? Is it just items you can't download, or can you not download any[ purchases from the Rebellion Account Portal website?

This doesn't seem to be a general problem, according to our tests, but maybe there's a problem with some specific products or your account, so if you can provide details of the problematic products and PM me your email address, we can investigate further

02. The first problem is also fixed now (actually a few weeks ago now) - sorting on the 2000 AD web shop by date is now by date of release, rather than when it was added to the store. Sorting by title hasn't changed, though hopefully the search feature can make this a little less painful.

03. BTW your 2000 AD shop purchases should also show-up on the Rebellion Account Portal site (and in the apps), not just your in-app purchases, assuming you login with the same email address and password, that is

@Devons Daddy - apologies for the massive delay in replying to your question about the merits of physical vs.digital revenue-wise for Rebellion/Tharg, only just saw your question in this thread.

Digital sales of 2000 AD are more profitable for us, as although the cover price is less, the production costs are too (no need to print and physically distribute), and there's no risk of wasting money on unsold copies (though we're pretty good at estimating how many copies we need to print).

Also, we make more per copy sold for digital products sold direct through the 2000 AD web store or the Rebellion Account Portal store than through our 2000 AD iOS and Android apps, as we have to pay Apple/Google their cut for sales made through them. Individual digital Progs are also a little cheaper (in the UK anyway) when purchased through our own websites.

So basically, we make the most per unit on digital items sold direct through one of our own websites.

BTW don't forget, if you buy a digital subscription through the Rebellion Account Portal website, not only can you download your Progs/Megs as DRM-free PDF and/or CBZ files to your PC, but you can also download and view your subscription issues through our mobile apps. at no extra charge, if you sign-in with the same account. This works (in both directions) for all other digital purchases (graphic novels etc.) too.

Don't forget that

Regarding Paypal, we've been aware for a while that there is some demand for offering this as a payment option, can't promise anything yet, but we're looking into it...

BTW on the Rebellion Account Portal 2000 AD shop (which the plan is to eventually evolve into a full-blown replacement for the current 2000 AD web shop, once we can support non-digital products on that, we'll also give it a splendid new look), we use a different payment processor for card payments (Stripe instead of Sage Pay), which seems to be much better at accepting a wider range of payment cards, especially non-UK ones, some of which Sage Pay seems to struggle with.

I also would appreciate PayPal. Also a cart system of some kind on the Rebellion Account site.

We've actually just finished QA of a shopping cart feature on the Rebellion Account Portal site and will be making this live early next week, along with some other ease-of-life improvements - before all the 2003 back issues are released :-)

BTW we've not changed anything with the forum, so if it's not working, it because of Tapatalk's changes...

Hi -the good news is that we'll be releasing all the Prog and Meg back issues from 2003 next week (including discounted whole-year "bundles" - available both through the apps and on the Rebellion Account Portal shop), including the "Prog 2004" Christmas Special. We're also planning to release the "Prog 2003" Christmas Special from 2002 at the same time, for the reasons outlined by the Adventurer in the first post.

It's unlikely we'll be releasing the rest of the 2002 back issues for a while, though, as going that far back, we don't have existing digital files for these, so would require manual scanning and manual editing from our reference print copies, which would take some time.

Another thing we'll be doing shortly (maybe next week...) is updating the functionality (again) of the Rebellion Account Portal website, so that when you view a product, the list of stories it contains will be active links showing you all the other Progs/Megs etc. that contain other episodes in that story, so that these can be tracked-down more easily.

As always, from this site you can download to your computer all products that you've bought through our iOS and Android apps as DRM-free PDF and/or CBZ files, at no extra charge, if you log in with the same email and password as you use on the apps (also works the other way around i.e. anything you buy through the Rebellion Account Portal shop will be available to download and view in the apps, if logged in).

We're also changing the way purchasing works on the Rebellion Account Portal, by implementing a "Shopping Basket", to make purchase multiple items at once less of a chore. This should be live by next week, as well as some other website improvements.

BTW if buying from the UK, individual Progs are currently a little cheaper on the Rebellion Account Portal shop than on the apps, if you want to save a few pennies...

Hi - we discovered a recently-introduced bug after a round of updates where some users (seemed to mostly affect those using Safari on Macs/iPads) couldn't log in, due to something related to the way their browsing sessions were being handled, this should now be fixed, however.

If anyone is still having login or sign-up problems, though, please head over to the Contact Us page on the 2000 AD web store and select "Website Technical Problems" form the drop-down and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

The forum search functionality has (finally) been re-enabled, apologies that we had to take this offline for bit, there were some problems with it, but we think these have now been fixed.
#103
We need to take our database cluster offline for about an hour on Tuesday 1st December 2015 from 5am GMT for some essential maintenance, following problems with this over the weekend. This will cause the main 2000 AD website and web shop to be temporarily unavailable, also during this period the 2000 AD iOS and Android apps will be unable to communicate with their respective backends, which could cause problems. The 2000 AD forum should be unaffected, however.

Apologies for the problems with the 2000 AD apps and websites over the weekend, our main database cluster failed on Saturday. Everything should be working again now.

BTW this doesn't just apply to Apple devices now, the bundle deals for all Prog and Meg years 2012 and backwards (currently back to 2007) are also available on the Android 2000 AD app, as well as via the 2000 AD section of the web-based store on the Rebellion Account Portal:
