Title: Chris Blythe Flatting software?
Post by: james newell on 22 November, 2017, 07:33:17 PM
I always have questions after the 2000ad thrill cast with creators

https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/2000adthrillcast/episodes/2017-11-14T21_00_00-08_00 (https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/2000adthrillcast/episodes/2017-11-14T21_00_00-08_00)

Chris Blythe (colorist) said he uses flatting software to help with coloring, any know the name of the software he might be using?, or maybe his site that I might send a question?

thanks

I imagine it's the BPelt Photoshop plug-in. There are a lot of real colourists who swear by it, although when I flirted briefly with the idea of colouring professionally, I didn't find it much help.

You'll find everything you need here. (https://peltmade.com/psplugins-flatting.html)

I've found it's only helpful in certain circumstances. With really detailed linework, especially when it has crosshatching/texturing etc I tend to find that I spend more time fixing the flatting separations BPelt generates than I would just doing all the separations manually from scratch.
