This may have been posted...but, looks like you can count Jon Stewart a fan...'my favourite Judge since Dredd...'  http://www.rawstory.com/2015/06/jon-stewart-roasts-southerners-clinging-to-their-archaic-symbol-of-racist-insurrection/

I think I first saw his work Cal (?) ...but he was around even before that, It's easy to forget that his work goes back pretty much to the beginning of this thing. 59 is too young.

Wasn't there a reference to a 'Prague' in CoD?...or was that a location inside MC1??
I was curious if it were THE Prague or some township or other. But I do remember something about it.

Word of mouth is the best PR but in my experience, Dredd was out of the cinemas by the time it built a buzz - and prior to that, it had a buzz only amongst the initiated.

Didn't it get a great reaction at one of the cons before general release?...maybe too little too late.

I will still offer to bankroll this if I win a stupid amount on a Euromillions roll-over...

Still not good odds...

Me too.

We saw a lot more wasteland within the city areas. It was bleak.

Interestingly 'Bob's Law' didn't appear for almost two years after the end of 'The Apocalypse War', and while the other stories that Jimbo cites (and many more) did deal very explicitly with the aftermath the very fact that they exist means that new stories in the same vein would be superfluous - we know all too well what post-disaster MC-1 is like, we've been there many times.

This is not a criticism of what followed DoC or your point. But The Apocalypse War was a constant unrelenting element in all the stories that followed the war. Many times it was just the ravaged city in the visuals but often stories generated as a result of war. Everything from bodies found in chem pits, presumably caused by the war, to Mayor Grubb's return, the vampire story, the refugee camps or shanty town, the revolt of the League of Fatties. It was ever present and for years. It was quite a different city.

Is everyone else as excited as me, or have I now built it up out of all proportion?
Tarantino

I am. One of the all time great characters (or gangs) to have appeared in 2000AD. I would have been happier if they had never returned after 'Death Lives'. For me, that was an open and shut case and another amazing example of courage from the writing team (to kill off excellent characters). But if they have to be around at least the original tone is back too.

Gregg Staples has obviously done something almost selfless here, I think, because it works out to be a page a week....and that will be nose-to-the-grindstone for the rewards of one page, that's got to hurt on pay day. But there is no doubt in my mind this story will be a classic and there is so much value in that its not funny. So, hats off to you Mr Staples....hats off, Sir!

Which is interesting because kittens have no respect for anything as far as I can tell.

Classifieds / Signed Dredd 3D Poster limited to 50
12 November, 2014, 12:46:51 PM

I drew this poster for the Dredd 3D screening in Birmingham later this month. All proceeds are going to the charity Parkinsons UK.

35 posters are reserved, I'll be keeping five - so we have 10 available. Later today I'll sign and number them and post them out. They are 10 pounds each (plus postage and packing) for those interested.

PM if so. It's all for a great cause.
