Most of his hideous disfigurement seems to have affected his bottom lip which is amusing.

"What did you want it to be?"

To be honest it was interesting and all but I sort of wanted a bit more info on the US stuff he did. I've read most of the 2000AD stuff he's done and that was all covered nicely, but his US stuff was only really touched upon and that's the stuff I'm less familiar with and more interested to read about. Was still a good read though.

I actually quite liked the lettering, thought it suited the boldness of the art, but I don't really know anything about lettering and it's rarely something I notice a great deal to be honest.

Was a good meg though, love the Domino arc, I hadn't fully realized what a harshly political woman Hershey can be. I know there's been stories where she's been shown as such, but authorising the killing of 2 envoys just to further the Meg's political gains made it sink in more than ever.

Never read the original Fiends(will be purchasing the GN though!) but found this intriguing, Macneil's art looks great in grey!

Metro Dredd's are crap, they seemed crap on the same page as Nemi and a horoscope, so they're gonna seem double crap sandwiched between Meg strips.

"Language Barrier" is a bit of a lost classic for me as I laughed heartily when I originally read it and it was nice to be reminded of that.

Love Black Siddha, as a superhero piece it's pretty unique and always a chuckle.

I actually enjoyed Black Museum for the reasons that Amstor didn't: I liked Vector 13. Sorry, I know it's a terrible thing to own up to, but I liked the pulpy nature of them and having stories like that set in the Big Meg makes me do a smile.

Apart from that the small press strip was interesting enough but didn't grab me enough to seek it out, and although I was genuinely interested in the Grant Morrison feature I found it wasn't what I really wanted it to be.

Overall was an enjoyable read though, with Dredd being the best thing this month I thought.

Prog / Re: Prog 1486 - Lock and Load........

I kind of figured something about the convention is maybe stirring up some kind of childhood trauma in her, it still hasn't been explained why she's freaking out but it does mention she's trying to remember something.

Droid Life- always a chuckle.
Dredd- intriguing, looks like a good detective tale, and Hollister rocks.
Random- as always the laugh out loud moment of the prog, last frame was a peach.
VCs- I was glad to see it back, stirs up memories of Space:Above And Beyond, which was my favourite show when it was on.
Low Life- by far my favourite artwork in the prog and Nixon still kicks ass, and if there's something even she's scared of then I can't wait to see it.

Games / Re: 50Hz vs 60Hz?

Funnily enough it's actually Resi 4 that set me off on this, because it had that test thing at the start. I hadn't realised I could watch NTSC until then. Having trouble getting into the game though, keep going back to Rogue to be honest. I find the Resi 4 over the shoulder viewpoint a little odd. Will persevere though because I've heard ridiculously good things about it.

The plot has thickened: if I play on 60hz then it is smoother but the bottom of the picture gets cut off whatever zoom setting I put the telly on. Probably just being an idiot so I'm gonna go and press a few buttons to see what happens.

Well, going with the 60hz and it does seem a little smoother, although my mind could be playing tricks on me. Thanks to all for the advice, I guess you do learn something new every day!

Games / 50Hz vs 60Hz?
02 May, 2006, 08:43:19 PM
This is probably a dumb question but I'm not hugely technically minded! Just discovered my tv supports 60Hz NTSC, so was wondering with games like Rogue Trooper that give you the option to use this, which is actually better?

Amn't familiar with any of these stories you're talking about but gather I'm missing something special so it goes on my must buy list.

"a simple goggle image search of 'Erica Durance' will mean you don't have to sit through the movie again."

Man I love technology.

Hmmm. Don't recall that part. At points I got confused and stared at the wall instead of the tv, both seemed equally riveting. Maybe that ?1 wasn't completely wasted then, where's the freeze frame button...
