Is promotion up to 3A or can Rebellion gives things a push from their side? The Megazine also has room for articles which could also be used to highlight the stuff - when there's anything to show of course.

As a licensee promotion and advertisements are 3A's responsibility, and we have run adverts for them in the past. But unless they let us know about things we can't push them. And we wouldn't do Meg advertorials on licensed material.

Cheers Molch - thought as much.

COMMANDO FORCES

All we as fans can do is promote any upcoming release via twitter and facebook, as obviously we'll post on here! There are numerous 2000 AD groups and followers out there, so it's up to us to spread the word. Now where have I heard that saying before

Dark Jimbo

The likes of the 2000AD Facebook/Tumblr/Twitter pages are really active and informative these days, in a way that they weren't back when Mongrol was first released (or even Ro-Jaws, really). I'm sure they'd promote upcoming poducts if they get the info - 3A is the weird one, with its secret sales and secret prices and three day's notice. I assume there's a logic behind it but they don't really seem to help themselves there.

I totally agree with you there DJ, an insane way to sell your goods. You may get the die hard fans lining up to buy them but how many times have I heard the lines, 'when did that come out, I would've bought one of those' quite a few, that's how many ::)

Spot on DJ. I don't understand the point of 'its a limited edition but we wont say how many' or special stealth sales practices which seem to help the scalpers willing to jump through hoops as its easier to buy from them at inflated prices. It's just all odd. I'll buy the crap out of a series of good 1/12 scale figs if I know I can get hold of them. As someone who gets a collecting bug in the brain for such things I wouldn't want to enter into it knowing that figures might be released I don't find out about till too late or when I might not be in a position to drop everything and run to a website.

Bat King

I won't buy them... not in to Action Figures unless really cheap and on a whim (a quid in a charity shop maybe). Though I'f accept one happily as a gift from friends or family.

I will seriously consider doing an article on my blog about them though as I do understand people like them - I'd do it as 'News' rather than a 'Review' obviously...

Think it's more accurate to say rather than 'limited edition' it's a one off pre order sale, like pretty much the rest of the designer vinyl or high end toy market. Probably. Which leads to your other points! They definitely didn't help sales numbers by dropping expensive figures like Mongrol with such short notice. They did hang about longer on the Bambaland store, but that's besides the point when you haven't the dosh to drop on them. The lack of information and updates also help to take the wind out of any potential sales, and much as I'm happy to see the toys continue in some way or another I also have that niggle in the back of my head that says 'believe it when I see it'. Plus I'm not so keen on the 1/12 scale humes but I'm sure I'll be all over these.

Like the man says though, it's the only game in town.

Yep, I think that's what I paid for Mongrol. Bear in mind he is probably bigger than the usual characters in that proportion so you might be paying less for the hume versions.

Having picked up two of the 'little' Tomorrow Queens' they are terribly little and, tbh, not very good. The size means the material for the outfits can't be cut convincingly so doesn't look like a dress but a band of material. They also look like they'd break easy as the limbs are incredibly slender. Makes me think doing mongrol in 1/6 may have been a mistake (too big / expensive) but doing humanoids in 1/12 is also an error - too small / fragile.
If I'd known it was harmless I would have killed it myself.

I have the budget, but the difficulty in getting the info has always been my issue.

3A superb stuff, the rojaws,Mongrol and Tharg all excellent.
but the time line between order and delivery was challenge to many i am sure.

still the new range i wish them success,
if they can offer links for us to share i am sure we can promote for them, we all have large social media contacts after all.

3a have never disappointed me i must say. ROJAWS was amongst their greatest achievement. he was perfect in everyday.

I AM VERY BUSY!
PJ Maybe and I use the same dictionary, live with it.

NO 2000ad no life!

Over on the ThreeA Blog today on Ashley Wood's Q&A bit, exciting!

Q: You've lit a fire with the announcement of the continuation of the 2000ad line in 1/12! Could you please spill the beans on which will be the first release to kickstart the line again? I guess Ro-Jaws might be logical but it would be amazing to get the long awaited Hammerstein or Dredd to get a huge buzz going.
A: Dredd, Death, Sov Judge, Johnny Alpha, Rouge, Nemesis ( any yes all ABC will be there ). Gonna release in groups too, not singular releases. I dont mean boxed set ( though there will be ) but waves, more in line with traditional figure releases. Im sure your sick of hearing me say I love these characters, but I do, we are risking a lot of $ on this, but I think they have to be made!
