Although these are both fairly formal "RP" German and , as such, completely miss the vernacular and idiomatic aspect of the originals. Number 2 in particular is basically meaningless.

Of course, it would help if you didn't have to amend the accepted English form in translation, as even though both languages deride from Latin, they do have idiosyncracies that are technically incorrect, but accepted in everyday usage - most people aren't even aware "to boldly go" is incorrect, but it remains an important cultural meme peculier to the English language.
"Went the day well?" etcetera
You'd be better off waiting for Dave to get it translated for you.
