that horse bits from the last lot of stories before the shadow warriors yes? is this book a way of explaining all the slightly wishy washy bits from that arc?

Remember the story in the christmas prog a few years ago, set int he roadside cafe, with the zombies and all that?
That happens somewhere around the middle of this book.
It has no mention of the Shadow Warriors, but could be seen as foreshadowing them with its villan.
