Generally Contrary

Iain Banks' 'A Song of Stone' has some terrific wordplay including some great puns.  I wouldn't want to do them injustice by attempting to repeat them from memory here.  But it is auch an altogether depressing book that this playfulness does not lift the mood.

I did like the Sin/Dex pun; 'are you taking the pith?' when they were to enter an overgrown tropical garden.

A couple of the Skyclad album titles have been good, namely:

The Silent Whales of Lunar Sea

and

Oui Avant-Garde a Chance

Some of their song lyrics tend to use puns a lot too.

The Piers Anthony Xanth books are based on a lot of puns too.

Not exactly a pun, but a favourite of mine from Absolutely:

"There's an old saying: you are what you eat. You've obviously been eating something extremely stupid."
