Hi Everyone

I've listed two Judge Dredd figures on ebay and thought there might be some interest from readers on here.

I have posted links to the two figures below, just cut and paste them into your browser. I'm also selling a Die Cast Iron Man figure, so I've added that as well.

Get in touch here if you are interested or make a bid on ebay.

Suggestions / Upgrading subscriptions
19 July, 2023, 07:14:00 AM
Hi there

I bit the bullet about two years ago and became a subscriber, mainly because I could only find 2000AD in Forbidden Planet. At that time I'd fallen out of love with American comics and instead of weekly visits to FP, months could go by before I'd visit and I'd have to buy 8 or nine copies of 2000AD, but only if they had them in stock.

The reason I am writing is, I can't fault the reliability of your subscription service but the flimsy plastic they they are packaged in doesn't really protect my prized prog. It quiet often arrives with a bend in the cover or a small rip. My 2000AD collection is my prized possession and I keep them safe in acid free bags but I find that when they arrive damaged I'm having to rebuy them, which is frustrating and defeating the object.

As this is the suggestion column, my suggestion is to have an up-graded subscription service, one which you would obviously have to pay a premium for but would allow you to use protective card either side of the prog and DO NOT BEND in large capital letters on both sides of the package.

I'm afraid my subscription is about to end and I won't be renewing it. I'll now have to continue with my monthly trips to FP, where I can hand pick each prog.

I would be grateful if you could let me know if my suggestion is a possibility in the near future, I'm sure it would be popular with many of your readers.

Many thanks.

Why have I only just heard about this? Is there any truth to this rumour?

Amazing if it is true.

News / New crazy price for 2000AD prog 2
21 December, 2022, 03:47:28 PM
Have you guys seen that following Heritage Auctions sale of prog 2 (grade 6.5) in June 2022 for $11,400 they have now sold another copy (graded 9) for $22,800 in September 2022, this is in addition to another 6.5 graded copy which sold for $7,200 in November 2022.

The prices for prog 2 have gone crazy in America.

How did these guys manage to use "Button Man" as the title for their movie? Surely that is a copywrite infringement.

Suggestions / Mega City One Twitter
28 July, 2021, 11:41:20 AM
I've just been on to the Mega City One Twitter account, which has been set up to keep us updated with regards to the up-coming TV series but all it seems to be is a series of posts promoting Judge Dredd products, with no mention of the TV series for a long time.

Could we have an update please, even if it's only to say what stage you are at?

Many thanks.

General / 70's Nostalgia, enjoy
23 January, 2021, 02:06:05 PM
Hi everyone, just spotted this on YouTube, very nostalgic stuff from th e 70's and a little bit emotional for everyone 50+. There are a few black and white clips at the very beginning for some reason, unrelated to the 70's, get past that and you'll be surprised how many old memories this brings up.

Enjoy  :)

General / Big Up Dredd
02 January, 2021, 12:39:24 PM
Hi everyone,

I've just spotted that Dredd is back on Netflix, its always worth a second watch. That film is already a classic, and gets better each time you watch it.

I've also just spotted that they haven't included Karl Urban in the cast credits. Crazy.

It might be worth supporting it on Netflix and giving it the thumbs up, which will hopefully encourage Netflix to get behind the TV series. When that finally gets off the ground.

General / The Boys (Dredd Ripoff)
14 November, 2020, 09:35:56 AM
I've been loving The Boys on Amazon but has anyone else noticed Homelanders shoulder pads? Surely they have drawn their inspiration from Dredd's shoulder pads. It's not even subtle, they are just smaller. Apart from that they are a total copy.

I think Dredd needs to pay a visit to the law breaker who designed Homelanders look.

General / I need help cracking my own code
26 October, 2020, 11:11:40 PM
Hi everyone, I have a favour to ask. I have just been updating my Marvel and DC comic collection and when I made my original list I used a couple of abbreviations. As an example the following is how I typically listed a comic on my spreadsheets.

Action Comics – Superman (DC)   318   GD+   APT 1964 (CK)

The first part is obviously the title, DC is Detective Comics, 318 refers to the issue, GD+ is the grading meaning Good Plus. APT means it has the original American Price Tag and not the British 12p. 1964 is the year it came out  and for the life of me I cannot remember what (CK) means. I have added that for most of my comics but not all and I cannot remember what it refers to. Can anyone suggest what CK stands for in relation to my comic collection? It's going to bother me for the rest of my life if I don't find out.

Thank you in advance to whoever can figure it out.

General / Sad Day for Megazine
04 September, 2020, 12:13:42 PM
I've been reading 2000AD and the Judge Dredd magazine since the beginning and for a long time now Ive been finding it hard to follow the strips, they just seem to make less and less sense to me. I'm not sure if it's my age (54) or if it's the writing, but I'm just not getting the stories. The only two strips I can follow easily are Judge Dredd and Sinister Dexter. Does anyone else have this problem?

I've been collecting both comics since they started and the collector in me does not want to stop buying either comic, but the Megazine has to go. It's £5.99 a month, £71.88 a year and I'm just reading the Judge Dredd story and nothing else, as it all seems too confusing.

It's a sad day for me and the Megazine, as I have very few comics left that I actually enjoy reading. I gave up on Marvel comics around 4 years ago, as their continuity is worse than insane. I now just buy the occasional graphic novel from Marvel, any Darth Vader comics and now just 2000AD, as the Meg, from next month, is being removed from my reading list.

What does everyone else think?

News / Dredd Animation (wow)
30 June, 2020, 09:45:42 PM
I've just seen this on YouTube, its an animation short featuring Dredd and is pretty amazing and this guy did it at home in his bedroom. Come on Rebellion, get your finger out. I've been waiting for a decent Dredd animation for years and this was very good, so what could you do?

I have just spotted this on the Heritage Auctions website and was amazed to see that the original art for 2000AD prog 2 sold for $90,000.00. I think this was last year. Amazing to see. Also I was surprised to see that they've sold quite a lot of original 2000AD art on their website, which is based in the states, I didn't realise there were so many fans stateside.

I hope the link below works.

General / Trump and Judge Cal
24 August, 2019, 04:03:28 PM
Is anyone else seeing the similarities between Donald Trump and Judge Cal?

They are both obviously insane and in positions of immense power and no none around them is doing anything about it.

Obviously it's past tense with regards to Judge Cal, so can we put this down as another great prediction by 2000AD writers?

Just read prog 2131 with the introduction of new art droid Brian Corcoran, loved his work but can't help but feel he's too close to Simon Fraser in style, who is one of my all time favourite 2000AD artists. The same happened when Henry Flint came on the scene, it was hard to distinguish between Henry and Carlos Esquerra's work. Wasn't sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing at first, but considering that Simon hasn't done any work for Rebellion in a while and I loved Simons style I'll say welcome onboard. I'm just not a fan of the 3Rilers stories and would like to see him work on an establish character. And on that note I'm starting a bring back Dante campaign. I know he's only on a break Rebellion, you didn't kill him off for a reason.  :)

Just been having a clear out this afternoon and came across these two beauty's. I had an idea in 2004 to get a huge page of artwork with all the significant artists from 2000AD creating their own small piece. Each pic is 9cms by 12.5cms. I bought many pages of art from Simon Fraser and also a couple of pages from Henry Flint, so had their contact details and asked them to contribute, which kindly they both agreed to. These are the stunning results. They were on a much larger page but I've been too lazy to contact other artists, so my project has stopped here. I've now cut these two out but both are still side by side on one piece off card. I now plan on getting it framed. Once again, thank you to Simon and Henry. Enjoy  :)

News / 2000AD Villains Takeover Special
23 April, 2019, 10:12:45 AM
I've just been into Forbidden Planet in London and picked up a leaflet advertising a signing of a Villains Takeover Special, with an image of all the bad guys from 2000AD and the 2000AD logo.

This seems to be a one-off comic, but I've heard nothing about it. Does anyone know anything?

It's happening on Saturday 4th May between 1pm - 2pm.

Film Discussion / Any Update on Mega City One
15 February, 2018, 03:31:31 PM
It's been a while now but there have been no new updates to the TV series in recent months and its 2018 now. I emailed them at the Mega City one website but had no response. Has anyone else heard anything with regards to the above?

It would be nice to hear something positive, the silence is worrying.
