terryworld - Amazing collection of progs you have there! How many are you at and how far back are you planning to go? Back issues are impossible to find here too, so I may give ebay a shot one day and get some progs to read and hang on the wall.

i think i need 209 progs to get the full set and around 100 megs. then i've got the lot (minus a few annuals/specials - but i'm close with those too)
it all started when i found prog 1 on ebay last august at a decent price and grabbed it. i SWORE i would not try for a full set.... but then i found a HUGE lot going VERY cheap - was lucky i guess. been slowly picking up bulk lots since (and have 100s of spares).
i'm in Oz so there aren't as many chances as i see in the uk on ebay or the various facebook groups to pick up the originals at a good price. but patience and perserverence will get you there!
what i love about the original progs is the damn SIZE of them - i'm not so keen on the rebellion TPBs due to the reduced size. growing up in the 70s/80s, i always loved that the 2000ADs i read seemed SO much bigger than marvel/dc. it really highlights the art. and theres something unexplainable about the FEEL of the originals... the paper is SHIT... but... the ink rubbing off on your fingers and (don't think i'm a weirdo) the SMELL of the originals... it's a weird sensory thing. you just don't get that from reprints.
keep going with the discovery of thrills via TPBs rogue. but if you get a chance to grab some old school progs do it! they're especially awesome with the old "nerve centres" where tharg tells us earthlets how lucky we are :)

that's an impressive collection of shelves Edazzling! and it's great to see both Marko and RogueJudge catching up on all the stories in the TPBs.
I haven't really bought any graphic novels (with the exception of cherry picking mega collection volumes).
but i HAVE bought all of these in the last 6 months :)
when you want your thrill power pure, original progs are the only way to go.

these were on one of the facebook groups last week. i seem to remember they were 500 pounds on there (or did i just convert it into oz dollars and remember that figure?).
indeed, this man's balls are very large. i was tempted to see if he wanted to buy my Oz signed copy (cheers Mr Sexton) for a 100 quid so he could have "the full set" :)
he's not even including the colour fabry variant at that price!

"I'm contemplating over a concept in an action role-playing game set in the Dredd universe."

I'll wait for Rebellion's version of that thanks.

ok "sandman" i've got a question for you.
WHY do you want to know all this? i might be wrong, but the impression i get is that you have some kind of idea for creating your own thing based off judge dredd. after 21 pages, we are CLEARLY past the "hey guys, can you recommend a good JD book?" stage.
you are asking SPECIFIC questions about SPECIFIC things. what is it? video game? spec script? fan fic?

a few boarders seemed a bit p.o'd with me for saying "just read the bloody books", and mentioned that it cost money to buy them. you have said something along the lines of not having time to read them.

well sorry if it puts a few noses out of joint, but i suggest the best way to get a feel for dredd is to actually invest a bit of time and money into the books. spend some cash. take some time. it's not like we're talking about DC rebirth or marvel secret wars here, these are some of the best damn comic books of the last 40 years.

if peeps are wondering why i'm being so narky about this, it's because i like my dredd intellectual property coming from rebellion, and that's where i put my galactic groats.

I guess we have to remember that although Brit's and Aussies both speak 'english', there are certain subtle differences that can be a little amusing at times.   :D

whilst i might reside in the Radback TJM, i'll have you know that i am a british citizen and subject born and bred thanks. and the mighty one's organ is nothing if not magnificent.

And on the subject of classic pulp are we going to get a deluxe hardback of Hookjaw with colour centrespreads etc?
I would have thought these would sell in droves as well as generating a little, welcome publicity from some morally outraged corners.

fuck YES!! please
