Classifieds / Looking for Progs 1780 and 1811
23 February, 2015, 04:44:50 PM
Hello, one and all.

Couldn't buy print copies of these through the web store as they're out of stock, and haven't seen any on eBay either, so if anyone has spare copies they'd like to sell to me then I'd be a very happy chap since it turns out that they're somehow the only two Progs I missed when buying lots of back issues.

Cheers!

Probably beating the droids to this (if they announce such things) but I just checked the Catalogue link at the bottom of the site for the first time since late last year and found that it's actually been updated with their releases for this month 'til June.

Here's the link: http://www.2000adonline.com/downloads/rebellion_publishing_catalogue_2015.pdf

Aside from what has already been readily available for pre-order through the official store, Amazon and Forbidden Planet (Phase 3 of Zenith, the Steve Moore collection, etc.) - last I checked anyway - I see that Devlin Waugh's second collection, Red Tide, is getting a new reprint, that The VC's is getting one of those digest-sized books, and I think that the A.B.C Warriors: Return to Mars isn't yet available for pre-order either; but that's it. More later in the year of course - hopefully new hardcovers! - but I'll be nabbing that new Devlin Waugh book myself.

Help! / Bagging and boarding?
16 June, 2014, 07:36:25 PM
Alright, so hopefully a few of you can help me out here.

First thing's first, I won several lots of older 2000AD comics on eBay a months ago, about half of which from the one seller are all bagged, which I'm quite happy with keeping that way - unbagged that is - as they fit rather snuggly into their storage boxes. Plenty of places selling those bags, so no problem there. However, part of the other lot that I won includes the point in which the format of the comic was changed, sometime shortly after Prog 500 I believe, and they're awkwardly taller and wider than previous issues; and I have about 250 of the comics from that point onwards.

Anyone know of anywhere selling bags for those? In the places I've checked I've not had any luck, the bags are either being for the Progs prior to that or the modern ones. However, I'm not even sure it's worth doing so for them anyway, as I think they also become glossy paged around that time(?), so I was wondering if a few of you who bag / board these things could perhaps advise me on what they did with those.

There's also the possible problem that they may not actually fit inside the boxes I'll be buying anyway, which are these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291095584242?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT.

The other thing I'm looking to do is of course also bag and board my small collection of the modern comics, and all I wanted to ask on that is - yay or nay? For some reason I feel all protective of them, particularly since I nearly ruined a bunch of them after putting them in an acidic cardboard box instead of an acid-free one, but if it's true that you need to re-bag them every couple of years to keep them in good condition, I may not bother. Though if that's the major exaggeration that I imagine it is, then I'd be quite happy to buy something like these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PACK-OF-100-X-2000-AD-COMIC-BAGS-AND-BACKING-BOARDS-/390151757159?pt=UK_Books_comics_Magazines_UK_Comics_ET&hash=item5ad6db5d67

Of course, any other suggestions of where to buy these things if I decide to do so would be quite smashing too. Either way, thanks for any help in advance.

Help! / Postage for multiple items?
10 April, 2014, 08:05:13 PM
Hey guys, wondering if any of you will be able to answer this question. So when I bought the hardcover screenplay I noticed that they said would be contacting you for additional postage costs if you were buying anything else at the same time.

As I'm now looking to buy some back issues of the Megazine, that got me thinking that buying several of those at once is probably going to increase the cost for postage or packagaing - after all, buying multiple books on Amazon, same company or not, still means you're paying the postage for each. Yet when I take the four Megazine issues that I'm looking to purchase to the checkout, I notice that they're still only charging the £2 for postage.

Anyone know if that's an error of the website and that they will contact you about extra costs? The reason I ask is because I could get some of the back issues cheaper elsewhere, but if I were buying them here all at once and it was only £2 for postage for them all, then it would be better to get them here.

Cheers,
Jordan
