Can anyone remember reading Dan Dare in the early 80's when The Eagle relaunched? Who was the artist on that 'cause I seem to remember thinking that it was some of the most beautiful artwork I'd ever seen? I'd love to see that stuff reprinted by Titan. The first episode where the Mekon returns to Earth to find his greatest adversary dead was classic. It was the strip that introduced me to comics & eventually 2Kad.

I don't think all of the issues were credited ... I know Oliver Frey (?) did some, and Ian Kennedy, but I'll have to dig out the back issues and see ...

Ian Kennedy did a lot of Dare in the 80s Eagle, don't know if that's who you mean.

Lucky bastard. My mum binned all mine. I'll never see DoomLord or Thunderbolt & Smokey again. Mind you at least she had the sense to never touch my progs.

My Dan Dare story index shows the artists where they are known.

Who owns the copyright on that stuff now? I'd love to see it in a collected format?

Dan Dare is owned by Colin Frewin and The Dan Dare Corporation. Hopefully, there will be a sucessful cgi animated series next year and he will be looking for spinoffs.
