Who remembers "Jaws" Jensen ? Not one of my all time faves but i still rate it quite highly to anyone who hasnt read it yet.

A clever idea of a future sport as well.

Love Mean Arena, it's a great choice for an EE.

could have a better cover. Even using an old one would have been better

i'm loving the old-school tharg tale (where john howard and brian bolland perfom at wembley stadium)

tharg looking gangly in shorts and his boots flying off being my particular fave bits

thinky
you think this isn't me? that's so sweet...

forgot to mention, i actually like the cover although admittedly it looks nothing like Matt Talon

Funt Solo

The cover looks like Matt's gangly, lesser-known, asthmatic cousin, Percy Tallon, having a vivid nightmare prior to his big chess tournament.

Genuinely looking forward to this one and have so since I first heard it was on the cards.

IMHumbleO perhaps the best incarnation of future-sport-meets-revenge-tale in the prog's thirty years.

As an aside, the difference between the first and second series is like the difference between the original Richard Bachman (stephen King) novel and Paul Michael Glaser's (yes, Starsky) eighties bone-crunching Schwarzenegger vehicle, The Running Man.

Obviously you're not a golfer.

I, Cosh

Got this one today. A story I've never read, so looking forward to a bit of disposable fun.

The subject of how prescient the Prog has been comes up now and again, so I was pretty tickled to read: "You're looking at the former stadium of one of the London soccer clubs that went bust in the nineteen-nineties..!"
We never really die.

This is great, love Mean Arena.

Always thought it would make a good telly series or tv movie, and could be done fairly cheap.

Make a great video game too.

Brutal Deluxe. *Now* that's a name for a team.

Obviously you're not a golfer.

Never liked the prog 187 cover art much but the 226 cover is excellent because it captures the essence of the strip perfectly.

I will get Inferno and blackhawk sooner or later .

Tharg , surely in all your unquestionable intelligence and judgement and all round good taste you could just possibly fix it so that those 2 strips are on the list for an EE in the near future?

[he might listen if i have given him enough compliments]
