Did I read that article correctly, that they're still shopping the series to Netflix et al? I thought it *was* a Netflix series?

No, it's never been attached to a channel/broadcaster at this point. Some articles have mentioned Netflix, but it's never been suggested in any official comment.
I see, ty.

Yeah it doesn't help when sites like digitalspy talk about the series being on Netflix in the title, then bury that there's been no official announcement on platform later in the article.

This is the best way. They'll have complete control.

I was bloody excited to read this over the weekend. Good luck to everyone involved!

found this on BBC news Judge Dredd publisher Rebellion to open Oxfordshire film studio https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-oxfordshire-46289086 for both Dredd and trooper  :D

Hey guys!

Don't get the opportunity to check in here as much as I'd like these days, but I just had to share this exciting news (without reading the posts immediately before mine!)

Worked for Bugsy Malone, and these look more like Lawmasters than either of the movie bikes.

Lol yes.   Still no news on this.   Look to me like it's no longer happening

Richard

Be patient, it'll happen. It takes a while to make a new tv series.

ABCwarBOT

Let's hope so but it would be nice to have at least a small announcement once in a while.  It's been about 2 years since the last 2 pictures (as far as I recall anyway).

Steve Green

Last tweet I saw about was, no major announcements, lots of writing.

IM Global and Mark Stern who was on the panel at San Diego 2017 no longer have anything to do with it.

Most of the news that's coming out seems to be about Rogue Trooper.

Reading between the lines on this, it sounds like the budget for Rogue will be less than Dredd 2012.

"I think we've come up with a really smart way to approach it," he says. "Hopefully, [we've] learnt the lessons from previous 2000AD films, where they were either not loyal to what the original comic was, or, in Dredd's case, just done at slightly too big a budget to actually be successful, even though the film was critically well-received. I think we've really kind of nailed this one. So, it looks good. It looks good that we'll get to make it and I think people are going to really like it."
