I know the feelin', it's not a mag I buy. I was just gonna have a peak at the Dredd article in the newsagents when I discovered the mag was wrapped in a plastic bag. I wasn't going to buy it but I'd nothin' else to read on the bus journey so I caved in. I was surprised to see the picture inside since I'd heard no mention of it.

They resemble some of Ezquerra's early judge concept designs from the 70's except for the helmet.

The hairs stood on the back of my neck when I saw it, not bad for a 31 year old who doesn't get that excited about much these days apart from sex & alcohol.

...they also have small police insignia/shields on their arms & chest.

The picture is an action scene with a few early judge types on "vintage" lawmasters shootin' some perps. They've got riot gear type helmets with hinged visors & chin dtraps; black suits with navy gauntlets, belts & small navy shoulder pads -like rookie judges. They carry sawn-off shotgun like lawgivers. It's looks great.

SFX magazine has a picture of the early version of the Judges/police force on bikes.

The thing that kind of surprised me was they are almost exactly the way I had imagined them when I was younger right down to the navy shoulder pads. I once drew a picture of them -long since gone- wish I'd kept it now.

Early lawgivers & lawmasters look good too.
