Hi everyone

I don't know if this is right place to post this, so apologies in advance if this isn't the right place.

I'm a long term reader, and budding comic book author currently working on my own graphic novel project. I'm looking to find an artist, but have no idea where to start. I'm looking to pay at least the going rates to get the right fit. Initially, I'd be looking for someone to do character designs and the first 8-10 pages initially.

My story is a sci-fi tale that begins in the present day, but with my protagonist a faded cabaret performer ending up in a future dystopian city. It's a mix of comedy and more serious topics (think each extreme of Nikolai Dante for tone). I'd be looking for someone who would be comfortable starting out with current day realistic scenes in run-down flats and cabaret bars and then moving onto something akin to 1970's/80's visions of the future with spaceships, robots and rather camp villains.

I hope someone might point me in the right direction to get me started. Thanks in advance.

Just delurking... I was a bit disapointed of the rather dismissive response to the Realm Of The Damned queries. I've read every issue of the Meg since it launched. However, this is the first time I've actually just gone WTF at any strip and considered leaving it.

I'm no prude when it comes to violence or gore - I'm a huge fan of Preacher thanks to the Meg. But this I really, really didn't like. Do I pick up the Meg to see someone pissing blood into someones mouth? Really? Just truly awful, such a misstep.

I know there's a market for this kind of strip, and I'm sure to fans of that style of strip it's great, but it's just not 2000ad/Meg for me.

Maybe I'm just getting too old for the Meg, I don't know, but just yuk. Sorry!

Just to let my fellow Irish Squaxx know, that FUTURE SHOCK will be showing in the Irish Film Institute, Temple Bar, Dublin this coming Saturday 24th October at 6.30pm as part of Horrorthon. Producer Sean Hogan and artist Kevin O'Neill will be there for the event also. I'm currently holding onto my ticket with a fervor akin to Gollum's love for The Precious.

Just saw this in the IFI - great documentary!

Hi, I'm a new poster finally getting around to posting. I'd stopped reading the Meg about 4 years ago. Always meant to start again, but there never seemed a jumping on point - always stories running that were an episode or two in and it didn't feel good value on the odd occasion I picked one up.

I tried a few months ago, and was really, really disappointed. American Reaper was one of the worst things i'd ever read in the Meg - and i've been reading it since the start and the other stuff felt light and cobbled together. It didn't feel much care was being spent on it and I really thought it was on it's way out to be honest. Such a shame, but things go through rough patches I suppose and I've always tried to support The Meg.

Happily, I started getting a digital copy to read Dan Francisco a few months back (which was ok, but not as good as I'd hoped) and i've seen it improve month by month ever since.

This issue was fantastic and it feels it's back on track, with loads of interesting stuff to come...

:D
