so I thought I'd start a thread based around obscure T.V shows from the past.

Does anyone remember watching Thunderbirds 2086? It was a Japanese anime thing based loosely on the Gerry Anderson series.

I remember having 2 episodes on a VHS tape. I Don't recall ever seeing it on T.V. It was pretty good. If anyone wants to see what the hell I'm rambling on about, there are a few full episodes on youtube.

Enjoy!

anyone remember King of the Castle? Freaked me out as a kid. It was a bit "neverwhere" - a kid who's just moved into a tower block takes the lift way way down and finds a bizarre world populated by counterparts of the real people above. Spooky.

Thunderbirds 2086 was definitely on TV. Pretty sure it was BBC1.

My favourites as a kid were always Thundercats, Dungeons and Dragons and Ulysses 31. None of those are very obscure though!

A couple I mentioned recently that no one seemed to remember were Orm and Cheep and the Telebugs. Both were on ITV around 1986.

I very, very dimly recall it.

What I remember more is my parents, upon not long having moved to this part of the country, bought me a hardbacked Thunderbirds 2086 annual. The show definitely WAS NOT on TV at the time, but did follow later.

I don't think my folks realised what a big deal that book would turn out to be. I spent HOURS leafing through it and drawing stuff from it. It was almost a holy artifact to me. It's also one of a few particular items that kick started my lifelong fascination with anime.

I remember it- Kafka for kids in a tower block. A couple of Dramarama episodes had a similar feel with kids running-the-gauntlet in some phantasmic prison were they'd be persecuted by adults in establishment drag about having a sense of personal responsibility.

Thunderbirds 2086 was broadcast during Saturday Superstore or Going Live.
