I do wonder if that's the reason they half-cover the title so it looks like SEX in the vain hope that someone might buy it by mistake and increase their readership marginally.

Sorry - meant for this to go in Off-topic.

God, I hope no-one who was involved in the London bombings goes in to WHS, they'll think they're taking the piss.

Apologies for the rant...

Ive just been in to WHS and lately they've been trying to flog junk at the checkout. (You've bought a newspaper therefore you must want a huge fuckoff chocolate bar, do you want to order the latest Harry Potter that sort of thing)

Lately they've been trying to sell me cheap backpacks for some inexplicable reason, and today all the staff on the tills are wearing them.

Unfortunately this means that they can't sit up straight.

I mean FFS what is going on? Is there some sort of demented Del Boy buying job lots of tat and flogging it off? I don't know why they think that having someone on the till at WHS wearing a fucking backpack is likely to sell more of the things.

Just curious if this is a nationwide thing, or the backpack-wearing is just the work of the branch manager.

I half-expect to next see the staff with a cheapo DVD player strapped to their head next time.

Grrr.

After seeing that My Hero is getting another series despite Ardal O'Hanlon quitting I'm grateful for small mercies.

I'd like to see some decent prints of some classic tooth artwork, especially the colour centre spreads from the ABC Warriors when there was that brief period that it went to litho.

I remember seeing some of the original artwork at a signing around the time it was published (The Kev O'Neill Deadlock sticks in my mind), but the McMahon Mongrol and Blackblood spreads are my faves.

It always bugs me that they've never been reprinted in colour in the collections as they look great in the original progs.

Really?

Wow... I got the page where Joe Pineapples kills Savard as a birthday present from my brother, but this was ages ago before Bisley was famous, so I'm sure he would have got it for less than ?100.

He was a fave of mine from prog 1 - the Biogs blew my 9 year old mind away. It's something I wouldn't mind seeing reprinted as an extreme edition.

Maybe they should dress someone up as Public Defender 314, he seems to get the job done :)

There are 2x 2part stories.

One was the Burger Wars segment which had a war going on between McDonalds and Burger King, and included a murderous Ronald McDonald.

The other one was a story about a scientist who looks exactly like Colonel Sanders of KFC, and is genetically engineering creatures that look like corporate icons, such as the Jolly Green Giant, Michelin Man etc.

More details here

Cheers,

it would be nice if some of the early specials/annuals Dredd stories were included as well (The Whitey story with the twin towers for example) I don't think that was in the prog originally?

Thanks,

Steve

Regarding the Case Files, are they going to included the epics or just the parts between?

If it's everything, it would be a shame that Cursed Earth wouldn't appear uncut because of the Burger Wars/Giants aren't Gentlemen segments.

Any idea if Rebellion have considered approaching the parties again to see if they would allow them to be published, or is it best thought to let sleeping dogs (and lawyers) lie?

Cheers,

Steve
