Gather round and watch me publicly humiliate myself by posting bits of pieces of my sketchbooks (this is definitely quantity over quality stuff)

erm.. I've kinda started one - not 2000ad strictly (and not strictly a podcast as I've not set up an RSS feed, etc), just me at my drawing table drawing and yammering. You'll find it at my website.

2000AD scriptwriter turns to science fiction novels

The latest client of the John Jarrold Literary Agency is Scottish writer Gordon Rennie.

Author of five novels, scripts for 2000AD including JUDGE DREDD, ROGUE TROOPER, CABALLISTICS INC, and several others now collected into graphic novels, including NECRONAUTS, RAIN DOGS and GLIMMER RATS, Rennie has also been commissioned to work on computer games and film scripts, which are presently underway.

?Gordon?s imagination and range are outstanding,? said John Jarrold. ?I?m delighted he has joined the agency, and I look forward to discussing a number of his projects with book publishers and the film and media industries.?

Contact John Jarrold by e-mail on j.jarrold@btinternet.com

John Jarrold went on to say, 'this is Gordon's last gasp at a proper job and if this doesn't work it's out on the streets as a new romantic mime and nobody wants that..'

I suspect that's a parody of a Jay Leno list (why would Jay Leno's writers know either anything about 2000AD or ITV?)

You're video card is either knackered or could do with being re-seated (although if it's not had a knock or been moved or opened and fiddled with it's more likely that the card is knackered)

Make sure you don't have any key (like shift or control or alt) pressed. Make sure that you don't have 'sticky-shift' turned on.

Press 'X' will swap between using the foreground and the background colour, you've probably got the background colour set as the current colour.

Help! / Re: pop-up hell/floyd vs spyware...
27 December, 2004, 04:32:06 PM
It can be tough getting rid of spyware - there are a number of things to be done (I've written them in the order I normally do them in).

1 - Download/Buy and then install win xp service pack 2
2 - enable the firewall
3 - Download firefox - use this for browsing.
4 - Download a variety of Anti-spyware packages, www.lavasoft.de - adaware is one, off the top of my head I can't think of the others - but a google search for 'remove spyware' should bring up a few.
5 - run at least two or three times (run once then reboot, run again)
6 - update adaware/anti-spyware stuff often and run often.

Alternately:

Download Win XP SP2, download Firefox.
Disconnect from internet
Reinstall your O/S (more radical than above but much more likely to create a totally clean system)
Use firefox for browsing
(obviously make sure you've got a back up)

Alternatively:

Buy a mac (seriously, as of this writing there are no virus or spyware for the mac and I suspect they're dirt cheap in Japan)

You're making the assumption that any modded xbox is modded to play pirate games - while I agree it's less likely, it's possible an xbox is modded to play backup copies of legitimately held games (under current UK law, I believe this is legal) or it may have been modded to allow a user to run linux or an alternative OS - to us the xbox as a media hub, for example (a situation microsoft would like to make illegal but it'll take the UK law awhile to catch up with the day to day realities -- let's face it if you buy a car you can supercharge it, why would you not be allowed to do the same thing to your xbox?)
