Can anyone remember the name of a tv series I watched when I was a kid. It was set close to the sea and there were these possessed/alien/human things who ran after the kids and I think they were called Wilbeforces or something. It had something to do with a mountain? I seem to recall them going through caves and stuff. It was either Aussie or English. I vaguely recall it scaring me a bit and was wondering what it was.

Cheers

Ah, now I remember that too (watched it in South Africa) - but can't remember what it was called. It was Australian though and they were Wilberforces.

Was it set in New Zealand and featured Maoris?

That's it! Thanks all. Pity it's not out on DVD.

(Steve. I also watched it in South Africa.)

While we're at it, I remember a sung theme tune to a show, don't know what the show was but there were kids on a desert island...

Theme tune went something like:

So Tony Mark and David, (?) and Soo-Yong,
Were stuck there on the Island...er, de doo de doo dah dong...?

Sounds like the Lost Islands....

That's the one.

Something about the Australians that makes them feel like they have to explain the whole story in the sung theme tune.

There were a few odd Australian and New Zealand drama things on when I was a kid. There was one called 'Secret Valley' or something which was about a sort of summer camp and international kids' exchange programme. I couldn't suspend my disbelief enough to actually follow a storyline.

Does anyone else remember that? Its theme song was to the tune of Waltzing Matilda.
