Classifieds / Re: Judge Dredd cover painting, prog 1150

Fatboydale,

Thanks for the appraisal. From reading through a LOT of posts, assessing opinions both fair and dubious, the gist I got was that cover paintings go for more or less £300, but Dredd art can command double that.

Frankly, I think 2000ad art in general is greatly undervalued for the quality of work you get (on average), particularly in comparison with the wider market outside comic art. If this forum is representative the fanbase wants to keep it all strictly parochial.

And there is another issue - how much comic art is still being done traditionally? Painted art is becoming increasingly finite as artists switch to digital if they haven't already.

btw, I got this painting from Mark directly, in a trade subsidised by services rendered. That I am even contemplating selling it all is a sign of my financial difficulty because I feel I am disrespecting Mark by doing so.

After relisting for a year on ebay I've decided not to bother ever again. Its a reluctant sale anyway. This is the last time it will be available. After that it will become an heirloom!
Description here of what is on offer.

Still available. A fair price compared to the bunch that went on ebay recently and were fetching £50 each. These are in superb condition.

PM if interested.

These are fixed price listings so you can save yourself 10% if you buy these from me off list (the same goes for the Judge Dredd painting I have up)

On ebay right now is a piece of original art from the prologue seen in Prog 2000.

A chance to get a nice bit of art by Mark Harrison at a modest price, although there are a quite a few watchers already, so no idea where it'll end up. No reserve set.

Altogther I was given about a third to a half of all the painted art that was done for the series by Mark. The rest is presumed binned (this was going to be binned as well so I am very fortunate.)
The rest of it is here: http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=87238

I've had these bundled togther in a page folder for 12 years now, and its a shame to keep it all hidden away from view. So, if anyone is interested in acquiring some bits, drop me a PM. Be aware that not ALL of it will be available.

That Siku artwork is from Meg V3 No 11, p 48 & 49. If you'd had any earlier pages, you would have had the joy of seeing Sade give birth to a python.

Many thanks for the reference, stanley. Those earlier pages will have some curiosity value when I did out my megazine collection   :)

A page by Siku from the Megazine I think. Does anyone recognise which the story this is? Looks like something to do with Pan African judges. Would appreciate some info.

Original Dredd cover art by Mark Harrison. Forgotten which issue number. Pete Wells should be interested in this, I would post this in his covers thread but I'm new to the board so I can't yet.

Hullo,

I know there are older threads on this story, but I figured it better to start afresh.

I've been uploading scans of the original art onto Comic Art Fans. I've got as far as episode 6 and will add the remainder in due course.

There's also some other bits of 2000ad art that I am fortunate to own.

Enjoy...
